Grooming Questions I took Lilly to the groomer and at first glance she looked fine, but when I looked closer I noticed that one side of her nose was shaved, whiskers and everything. The hair is so long that at a distance I really couldnt tell at first, but the other side is still long. It's driving me crazy. Should I cut the other side even, or just let it grow back and then trim them both? She's only 9 months old, and I know it will grow back, but how long will it take? She doesn't seem to mind, but I'm pretty aggravated about it. I just don't want to get the scissors or clippers and risk poking her eye. Anyway, I was just wondering how hair usually takes to grow back, it was only a couple of inches long in the first place, and is it ok to cut the black whiskers? thanks |
Bring her back and let the groomer (whom I'm sure took your money) to fix it. Its fine to cut the whiskers, and it take a while for their hair to grow back. (a few months any way!) |
I don't even want to deal with that groomer again, she might shave her entire head bald this time. I might try and do it myself if I can get her to stay still. thanks |
wow sorry to hear about ur baby's bad experience... if you think u can do the deed urself by all means go for it but i totally understand you not wanting to go back to her... in my experience, Chicle got groomed about 3 wks ago and his hair is growing already... im already itching to get him groomed again ... so his hair grows fast |
Ok, that helps. Worrying about the whiskers were my main concern, she just looks lopsided right now and it's driving me insane. I don't think I'll be getting her face trimmed next time. |
If is hardly noticeble I will leave it like that. Unless you really want to do it, trim her hair with scissors that have a round end. Good luck. Can you post pics? |
I may take some tonight, but it's a pretty crappy haircut so I feel guilty about it. We'll see how it goes. |
aww :( itll grow it will just take a few days ... i dunno if this is an old wives tale but my mom, when i came back from Chicle's first grooming i was SUPPPPPPPER upset.. crying all day b/c i thought he looked bad .. well not bad but different .. he didnt look like my baby, but i got over that i think he looks really handsome now .. love his cut... well my mom told me to wet the area at all times ... that that will help the hair grow .. maybe it could work.. wont hurt to try.... ;) |
I would trim the other side if I were you.... I usually end up trimming something on most of my dogs after they've been groomed ... If I put them on their back on my lap they usually stay still... (usually....). |
You could wait until your little one falls asleep and then get the scissors out. THis works wonders with my little rascal. You are right though, the hair will grow back sonn enough! Good luck! |
I think if I were in this situation myself I would cut it. I think I would grab my best friend and ask for a hand :p ( lol I am a clutz ) |
Ok, I waited until she fell asleep and then snuck the scissors to her face and cut really quick. She would wake up and jerk when she heard the snip, so I just cut a little to even it up a little. It's still not perfect....but better. Maybe I'll try some more later. |
