Please read, our little Yorkie is sick! I think our 3 year old Yorkie Paris is sick:( She kept vomiting a lot today so we brought her to the vet. The vet said to bring her to a hospital, but we're not sure, because she might have a liver problem:( (just to let you know, she didn't eat anything weird) I don't know how much the price is. We made her some food [chicken, rice, and carrots] and she ate well. Just to know, do you know a way to slow down a fever, that's safe, without bringing her to the vet? Thank you! :) |
So she had been throwing up today....you said she has a fever? How high? Did the vet do any tests? What did they tell you other than she may have a liver problem. I don't know anything on liver problems other than to make sure they eat a low protein diet. I guess it all depends on what the vet said and why they said to take her to the hospital.....I can't help on the fever either....sorry. I hope she gets better quick. |
im so sorry about your baby. im going through a possible illness that my baby wont survive. i was told a my vet if she had fever to give her aspirin never tylenol as it is poison to canines .still you should ask someone here who knows more post this in the sick forum someone will help .they are wonderful. |
Why does your vet think it's a liver problem? What tests have been done? Any other symptoms? Was blood work done? If the vet wants her to be seen, she really should be. Yorkies can go downhill very quickly. |
Just my opinion but if there is a fever then there is an infection and the vet would have given you antibiotic for that, or are you just guessing she has a fever? What kind of liver problem? the treatment depends on the problem, the problem depends on test results. In Argentina vet cost I'm sure is very different from the States, I suggest you call the hospital and see if they can give you an estimate on cost. I really hope all turns out ok for your baby. You need to find out more info. Why did the Vet say Liver Issue? If she has a liver shunt, chicken or any meat (or organ meat) is like posion to her body. Also asprin is dangerous, so please only give her meds from the Vet. |
If your dog is sick with throwing up and possibly running a fever you need to go to the vet asap. Your risking dehydration and hypglycemia which can cause the little dog to go downhill fast. Please go to the vet. Before giving any asperine or any meds make sure you check with your vet on dosages and safety. |
Before she got a test and got high Bile Acid. She was totally healthy before, but when she got some vaccines, she started getting these problems. We gave her some chicken, meat, and carrots and she started to feel better. She's still not 100% cured, so she's resting. We gave her water so she stays hydrate, because her vet said that she wasn't. Thanks for whoever read this |
If she has high bile acids, more testing needs to be done and her diet may need to be changed, etc. Extra precautions have to be taken with drugs too. |
