he is going potty on the outside back door We live in AZ and it recently started to get very hot, this is the first summer with our 2nd yorkier Harley. He HATES HATES HATES :mad::mad: this heat and doesn't want to walk outside to the grassy area to go potty. If I don't watch him carefully he is peeing and pooping on the outside backdoor mat. I just sprayed the mat and concrete with some pet cleaner to see if that will stop this but is there anything else I can do? I'll admit I don't alway keep an eye on him when I take him out because I am either playing with Sam or picking up after them in the back yard and when I walk to the backdoor I see his accidents on the mat. :( is there anything else I can spray on it to remove his "smell" to go in this area? |
Have you tried removing the mat? It may force him to use the grass. Or you can buy a piece of artificial grass to put on the deck. Good luck :) |
yes the mat is removed and he just peed at the back door, I know its because its sooooo hot. I might try the artificial grass thing. |
Yogi does something like this when it's wet out. He'll poke his little nose out and if there is even the remotest chance that the ground is wet he'll hike his little leg and pee right there in the door jamb. :eek: I tell him to quite being such a little Princess and get his bum out there a pee like a big boy. :rolleyes: I've taken to placing him outside on those days and don't give him the chance to decide on doing his business in inappropriate places. |
