Advantix and Oily Coat Anyone else have this problem? I put Advantix on my two for the first time yesterday after their baths and it made them both look like an oily mess. I dont want to bathe them again to soon because I don't want to wash out the meds. Anyone know how long you should wait to bathe them again? |
I was using Advantix last year. Had the same problem and it wasn't working for the period of time it was supposed to. I switched to Advantage and it was much better and lasted much longer. You have to seperate the hair good and get it on the skin or it just drips down the hair. Even though the box says it's water proof it's not. I had made calls to the vet and the company because I didn't want to reapply before the time was up but she had fleas all over her. The company told me you have to wait set number of days before bathing. Which made no sense to me since they claim it's water proof. I think it's like 13 days or something. Hard to wait that long in the summer for a bath esp. when the stuff makes them so greasy. |

My experience with the product has been overall positive. |
I always apply flea treatment right after a bath like you did and wait the full week before bathing again. Ticks aren't a problem here so I switched form Advantix to Advantage. It's not quite so greasy. |
