:(:( So SAD!! Just wanted to let you all know that I am back to looking for a puppy. Got the bad news that my puppy died:cry: on Saturday from some bacteria infection. I have cried now for days. I just dont want to go on the hunt again, it took me 3 months to find this one. I just dont know if I can do it again!! :hands: |
Oh no!! I'm so sorry! Was your puppy still with the breeder? |
Im so sorry for your loss. What caused it? |
Oh..I'm so sorry for you! but please don't give up hope! your yorkie baby is out there waiting for you! A reputable, experienced, show breeder is the way to go..I got my perfect little girl from a great breeder..she is my little dream girl:wub:..stick around on here and do as much reading as possible..it will be well worth it in the end when you bring home that perfect, healthy, little bundle! Goodluck...and keep in touch!;) |
Yes, she was still at the breeder and I was to get her on Wednesday. She got some bacteria and she was just to small. I think that maybe she was weaning her to early, but not sure. By the time she came sick, I suggested to keep her for 2 more week with the mom and the breeder said that mom was dried up already. She was just over 9 weeks. |
aw I am so sorry! the same thing happened to me when I wanted to adopt Chachi's sister. two weeks before I was supposed to get her she died. I was disappointed and upset but I ended up getting a female from the breeders other litter. Best of luck puppy hunting |
I am so sorry for your loss. |
I'm so sorry give yourself some time then just see what's out ther. One will jump out at you when it's the right time and the right puppy. |
Im so sorry for your loss. |
Aw, I am so sorry. Poor little puppy. Did I understand you right that you were going to get this girl at 9 weeks? 12 weeks is more standard. Please keep us posted if begin to look again. I know this must be very sad for you. |
Yes, she would be about 10 weeks when I got her. I did not know how improtant it was for them to be more like 12, tell I joined here. I suggested to the breeder to keep her longer when I found out she was sick and that was when she told me that her mother was already dried up! I am not sure that she was a RP Breeder, I am going to take my time finding the next breeder/puppie!!! Kind of hard to find a breeder that does not have alot of other breeds!! I dont really want to ship one, I would like to see the parents and the place where the puppy is coming from!! Thanks for all your wonderfull thoughts!! |
I think you are right not to want one shipped to you. It's also a red flag if the breeder has a lot of other breeds there. If you are having trouble finding a good breeder, maybe someone in the regional forums can help you, or in the yorkies for sale. You can also contact the AKC yorkie club in your area and get a list of breeders. Have you considered getting a rescue? Is that her in your avatar? She is so cute. :( |
I am sorry for such a sad loss. PLEASE research your breeder well. I also was taken as I had no idead what I was doing when I went looking for my yorkie. I have only been on this site a couple months but I have learned an immense amount of information. You WILL find your sweet little fur baby!!!! and now you are armed with all the pertinent information you need to find a wonderful baby! Good Luck!!! Yorkies are worth the trouble to find the perfect one!:animal36 |
aww I am soo sorry for your loss.. |

Do yourself a favor and buy a yorkie from a breeder that is not in that much of a hurry to rid her self of babies.. for those are not a breeder I would say was in it for the right reasons.. Keep looking and it will happen when it is the right time.. blieve that.. anne |
im so sorry about your losses! just be glad your baby's in yorkieheaven now. i think you should look for a new baby, just think of all the times you shared with your lost one! |
Yes, please be carefull I would not recomend shipping. Did you have money on the puppy already, I hope if so you got a refund. It took me a while to find a reputable breeder. I am getting a male that is 12 weeks right now. And the breeder gives a one year health garantee. I have searched all around my area, I called all the vets and groomers and rescues in my area, and this is how I found him. After a long search he is 15 minutes from me over in the next town. |
Oh hon, so sorry for your loss, hugs:animal-pa |
Thanks, Thanks you to all my YT family for all you words. I have been looking for my new puppy, boy it is hard not to find one that does not have other breeds!! I found one but she has other breeds also. Comes with a year guarantee, have to fill out application, and be approved to get one of her babys. I will look on YT, did the first time had no luck, but will try again!!:) |
I am so sorry to hear about your puppy. Keep us posted and I am sure the right one will come at the perfect time!!!! |
I am soo sorry. I completely understand your dissapointment. I too went through something similar and everytime I wanted to get a puppy, an issue came up with each one of them. I wanted to give up so many times but I had support from people here and I kept educating myself and looked very hard for a good reputable breeder. I finally got my Lola 9 months after my initial deposit with the first breeder. It took a long time, but it is so worth it! I got lola when she was 15 weeks old...my breeder is on this forum, Kirista from Southeast Texas Yorkies. I know she has some females for sale on her website. She is great and was the ONLY breeder that actually called my references. She also checks up on her till this day and we have had her since March 20th. Your puppy is out there waiting for you as you are waiting for them. I truly believe that I got an amazing puppy because of the breeder and because I did not get her when she was too young. Good Luck and dont give up!:) |
I am so sorry for your loss. I have been through the same thing as you and I know how hard it is. Before we got Roxy we were looking at a baby from a friend of ours who is a breeder. All of a sudden mom stopped feeding her, the breeder tried all she could to get mom to feed her and even gave her Nutrical and Karo because she went into a hypoglycemic attack but nothing helped. The baby was about 6 weeks old. I know how hard it is. Don't give up hope, your baby is out there waiting for you :) R.I.P. little angel! |
So sorry to hear your little one did not survive, that must be heartbreaking.:( Wishing you much sucess in fnding your new baby. I am also in IA and know it's hard to find the right breeder, actually the 4 yorkies I have came from other states and I would probably only recommend one of them to get a puppy from. There is one out there, though, just waiting for you to bring it home:) |
