Best treat for teaching commands... My 3.5 month old Sprinkles doesnt know anything now...He understands NO and OUT command..I want to teach him commands like SIT and STAY... I am going to Petco this evening and was wondering what treat should I get to feed him while teaching.. |
Molly will do just about anything for a little bit of boiled chicken, so thats what i use. I always take some with us when we go for a walk and i let her off the lead. That way, i know she will come back to me quickly if i need her to. :animal36 |
Yes when they are that young, train with a very tasty treat, and they will do just about anything! Have the treat in front of their nose and use the head to guide them into what position you want. Boiled chicken is very good, but only a tiny bit at a time. Too much protein is not good, esp when they are that tiny. Check out the training section for lots of tips! |
Oh yea, I wouldn't suggest using any treats that can be bought at petco or petsmart. Use fruit, veggies, chicken, etc instead much healthier, not fatty. Treats from the store at basically junk food. Too much is not good. (Make sure to check out the sticky in the health and diet section for dangerous foods too) |
