My Yorkie's fallen ears I have had my baby for about 3 months now and in that time his ears have been both up, one up and one down, and now both down. He was 4 months old when I got him and both ears were standing up beautifully. Then one started drooping. The vet said to massage it and it would strengthen it. Well it worked for a while and both were up again. Then it started drooping again after about two weeks. Then the other ear started. Now they are both drooping and I'm so sad. He is 7months old now and I'm afraid it's too late to fix them! I'm hoping since they have been upright before on their own they're fixable. Would taping still be an option at this age?? Thanks! |
Couldn't hurt to try. Laya's ears went up and down, up and down for a while when she was a puppy. Teething sometimes tends to make them go down. I would give the tape a try. |
Oh and welcome to YT. And I have to say you will see many beautiful yorkies here with ears that are down. They are adorable. :) |
Excessive hair on the ears will also make them droop. Try grooming away the hair to see it they stand up again. Worth a try anyway! Woof! ~CD |
There can be different reasons as to why a puppies ears are drooping. Sometimes when they are babies their siblings chew on their ears and it messes up the cartilage also like the post before me excessive hair can make them droop. Cut them short or tip them. That is the reason for tipping the ears so they do not droop. |
