What we enjoy is not necessarily enjoyable to our sensitive doggies. Keep them safe and keep them home. We have elected to stay at home WITH our new puppy, and not go out or leave him home alone. Responsible pet ownership sometimes requires some sacrifices. |
It was Nala's first 4th of July. I was also debating if i should take her to the park with me or not. I was worried after reading so many bad stories, but figured I'd try it out and if she got freaked out i'd leave. I just feel so bad to leave her alone at home, esp if im going to the park which i know shed love. she actually had sooooooo much fun. im really glad i brought her with me. and now i wont be worried next year. i just swaddled her in a towel and kept her on my lap and covered her ears with my hands so it wouldnt be too loud for her. amazingly to my surprise she was very well behaved and just watched the show. she had so much fun and all the ppl were complimenting how cute she looks with her top knot. she loved the attention. then we got home and we slept with the window open and could hear fireworks all night and she slept right through it. she actually more calm towards fireworks now i think after she saw the show and realized theres nothing to be scared of. b/c before the show we heard a couple fireworks from my house and she made a few barks so i thought for sure she was going to have a fit there, but after she stopped barking at the fireworks. i tried to desensitize her to the noise too couple days ahead let her listen to fireworks sound on comp really loud: So im very glad i brought her. shes still so tired out from last night shes still sleeping and its almost noon. haha. ;) |
