x-pen size 24" or 36" Hi, my rosie is only 12 weeks right now but I want to get a x-pen that will last for when she is full size. Is a 24" high too low for full size yorkie? |
yes get the 36 |
YES! They are jumpers! Go with 36. |
Not only are they jumpers, but some are climbers too! I have 1 girl that can scale my 48" pen! |
Sissy climb over the top of the 36 so we went back to the crate while training her NOTE FROM SISSY-who's trained??????? Mom you wish! |
I agree I don't think height matters lol depends on the puppy. We have a 5 year old little girl who never tries to escape and and 8 month old little boy who has scaled the side of his 36" tall expen from the time he was 6 months old. We had to buy netting and make a top for it. (We did this to keep him in and hawks out ). |
Well, I guess mine are the exception, as we have 5 yorkies and none of them have jumped or climbed out of our 24" or 36" xpens. We use a 24" streched out from our chain link fence to our back door to keep them from running off when we open the back door. So far it works well and is easy for us to just step over, kind of a pain but keeps them safe. |
Someone gave me this hint a few years ago, and it works! When putting your babies into and removing them from the expen ALWAYS use the door. If you never put them in/out over the top, they don't see that as a means of escape. LOL, Bernie climbs baby gates all the time. So...we were told this before getting the expen and it has worked wonders! Also, when hubby built a freestanding wooden gate for the foyer awhile ago, he built it with a door. LOL, they haven't figured out they can climb it either. Just a thought. |

I would definitely go with the 36". I only have one dog that will climb out of one that size. |
