What's with Oodles and free Yorkies?? What kind of scam is this, and I know it is. So how do they respond when people call them? Yorkshire Terrier Pets For Sale - Oodle.com) |
They send you this sweet sounding e-mail and want you to send money to them right away for shipping!! SCAM!!!!!!! I have seen a couple that other YT members have posted before! It is really sad!!! |
Scam. No one just gives away Free Yorkies for no reason at all. These people dont sound good to me. |
Everyone needs to stay off of places like that! Craigslist, Kijii, Hoobly, Oodles they are all full of nothing but bad breeders and scammers! Just stay away and don't even look, we keep preaching good breeders, reputation, no puppymills, no BYBers! Free is NEVER really free! You asked what else to do? Use the report FRUAD link if you are so compelled to go to places like to look. But in the end it is not a good idea to be looking for a new Yorkie on any of those sites. :thumbdown |

I have Jemma and would never look at those sites. I was trying to see if that woman in Michigan, another thread, had listed more pregnant dogs for sale. When I saw the free Yorkie ads I said wth is this? I can't imagine the people who have been scammed of money. Good grief. |
Scam artists I answered one ad this morning and have been "playing with the scammer" all day. I told him I wanted two of his Yorkies and just my luck I would be in South Africa this weekend. He went as far as giving me a legit phone number and address to pick up the dog.......... Of course I not flying to South Africa but I thought it funny that he would go as far as giving me an address and phone number to call. |

Interesting...I received an email of this nature recently and thought it was a bit odd and just deleted it. Reading this it makes a lot more sense now... What scam will be thought of next? |
About three years ago I was scam into the whole South Africa Free Yorkie Puppy scam I thought that the puppy was so cute and the worst came to my mind are they taking care of it and I wanted to be the good person and save him well I ended up sending over 800 dollars and it never crossed my mind that it was a scam the person even contacted me by phone. I was so excited knowing that I was going to get a yorkie. The person even went far enough to giving me a flight number that they puppy would arrive and also gave me an airlines. I went to the airport and sat there crying for about 5 hours knowing that I was an idiot. So I know that there isn't a free puppy anywhere. |
when i was looking for our Kaylee I was contacted by one of those scams to pay just the shipping but when we looked up where they were shipping from it was camaroon africa...luckily we ran from it and then found an awesome breeder here in texas...bluebonnet yorkies and I can't say enough good stuff about Magdelena... |

I wish more people would pay more attention because right now there is this thread going on http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...ee-yorkie.html and instead of being overly cautious the OP went and we have not heard back any news. |
I think it was FLDebra pointed out that everytime you post a link like that here and everyone is clicking on it it's helping that person get more noticed? Did I say that right? I understand how it works but not very good at putting into words lol!! Kind of like my DH's business site, the more people that look at it makes it one of the first sites to pop up in a search engine. I'm sure Deb can explain better if she sees this. |
I was bored, tee hee. Quote:
From: ----- Subject: RE: Adorable Tea Cup Yorkie Terrier puppy for Re-homing To: me Date: Thursday, June 25, 2009, 7:11 AM Thanks for the mailing, what makes you think that my puppy is not yorkie and not AKC?. If you are in need of a puppy i can help you have one and not trying to teach me my business. Thanks From: me Subject: re: RE: Adorable Tea Cup Yorkie Terrier puppy for Re-homing To: --- Date: Thursday, June 25, 2009 2:15 PM Is the puppy you are looking to rehome the one in the photos? The one in which the ad that is now removed? If so, there are no yorkies that are AKC registered that are black and white, they are black and brown. So if you think it is a yorkie perhaps someone does need to "teach you your business" as you put it. You did say business, didn't you? I thought you were looking to rehome??? Let's see what happens now. The ad has already been flagged and deleted. Too bad I didn't save a copy of the pic they had up of this pup. So what, I was bored. All the weirdos came in yesterday, it's slow and I don't have anything to do!:p |
