I need help w/my new baby's hair..... I recently got a new baby Yorkie and I do not know what to do with his hair. He has thick wavy hair and it is all knotted up like dread locks, I don't know how to get all the knots out :( My other Yorkie has different hair so I've never had this problem before. My new puppy is 11 weeks old I've had him for 2 1/2 weeks, should I just take him to a groomer and get all his hair shaved down?????? Or should I buy some type of detangler and wrestle with him and try to get the knots out? I'm really frustrated about this and I feel bad that he has all these knots.......please help any tips would be appreciated. Thank you! |
Grats on your new baby. I saw a grooming video where she used corn starch with the brushing to untangle. Haven't had to try it yet though. Hope it works for you. |
I really don't understand how a 11 weeks old puppy's hair could be so tangle? He most of rub himself in something sticky.... Was the dog like that when you got him? Where did you get him from? You can try to brush him , but if the tangles are really bad, he will need to be trimmed down. |
You can geta fine tooth metal flea comb and some detangler from the pet store to work them out. If you have a feed store close by you can get some Cowboy Magic, it works great at getting tangles to let loose. Just work on a small area at a time, so that he won't get sore and frustrated. It may take several days to get them all out, but it sounds like he's going to be the type that will need daily grooming. Gracie Ruth is that way and I just got so tired of the nightly torture sessions that I just had her cut short. She's way happier now and so am I! Oh, and Welcome to YT!!! |
