What do you all think? Well I've come to trust all of your opinions very much, and wanted to know what you thought about my situation. Our family is going to be visiting Colorado for about a week this Christmas holiday, and Tucker really does not enjoy traveling. We are hoping to have him a buddy by then, so if he stays here he won't be alone. But if there's going to be 2 of them, the cost of them both staying at a kennel would be a bit much for us. I really like the idea of our vet keeping him, just for the peace of mind that if Tucker has any health issues his vet will be there. But there is one problem with that idea. I'm afraid it's going to cause Tucker issues with his bladder (since his shunt has caused him to have stones and crystals before) and he would have to hold it for like 14 hours over night. I'm not sure if that would be good for him, and I know he won't go in a crate. So, what do you guys think we should do? |
Is there anybody who will be staying at your vet to give some potty time for Tucker?? Most vet's don't have assistance 24/7 in our area so not sure about yours. Maybe you can find a trustful friend or family member who can care for Tucker and your new fur baby?? Also, with your new baby please make sure he/she is old enough to have had all the vaccinations before any outside care is given. It might help to give Tucker a piece of your clothing, something he can smell while you are away. It's real hard leaving our furbabies with someone but atleast you are looking at all your options now to give the best possible care for Tucker. |
Yes, they do have staff who would take him out 3 times a day in the grass, but I still worry about that time from when they leave the office til they get to him the next morning. And I would love to leave Tucker with a friend or family member, but I just don't want them to have to worry about if he gets sick. And all his medication and things. Especially if there were 2 of them, I'm just afraid it'd be too much of a burden, but I don't know Thanks for all your advice! |
Is there somone who could stay with them at your house? I used to get students to dog sit and house sit! |
Do any of your regional YorkieTalk members feel like taking care of them for you? Sometimes, a friend with pups will be more than happy to baby-sit your babes. |
