car seat question Are harnesses that fasten with velcro safe to use in a car seat? I'd be afraid of the velco pulling loose in an accident, but maybe I'm being too paranoid. |
I don't believe I would trust them. I bought harnesses and seatbelt clips, esp. for use as a car seat harness. They are much heavier and stronger than even a walking harness with buckles or clips. In the event of even a minor collision at 30 m.p.h., the force of the thrust is unbelievable. Sheila :aimeeyork |
I wouldn't trust velcro either but I am paranoid ;) |
I wouldnt trust velcro either. I think a harness with clips in this case is better. Then again I dont have a carseat, so others that do can give you better advise. |

I have found that velcro just doesn't stand up to be strong enough. The clips and belt harness work so much better. We have a kennel with a loop which the seat belt secures to, that works well. Two of the car seats also are attached by ties and seatbelts and the doggie passenger is attached to seat belts by their harness, also seems to work well. |
Thanks for the advice! |
