Well i went shopping for the things i thought id need before my puppys arrival. I am new to this breed so if im forgetting anything thats important please let me know. so far i have picked up

Crate
Blanket
Xpen
training pads
toys
food and water dish
decided on wellness brand so i picked that up to slowly switch him to
a hoody for cool nights
harness
leash
nail clippers
brush
nutri-cal puppy

i think that about covers what i bought. thanks in advance :)

oh yea i got some tearless puppy shampoo as well

the only thing I can think of is at petsmart they have pet stages "teething" rings for puppies. I would consider getting that for him/her... :) Otherwise I think you covered it all! Congrats!!!

Looks like you have a great start! Just remember to have some treats around for when you start training - and like the prior post mentions, make sure you have plenty of toys that your little one can chew on. I ended up getting a pet bed as well (in addition to their crate) since we have so many different levels to our house & we baby gate them off at times. Congrats on your new family member!

I think you did really good. One thing that I liked to have because mine were pretty messy as pups was puppy wipes or baby wipes so you can wipe them down after eating or when they get messy. Or you could just use a mild dog shampoo and warm wet washcloth.

I also liked to have some Bene-bac on hand. It really helps with loose stools from stress and with switching foods:)

Very good list. How about something, although not essential, like Nature's Miracle stain & odor removal?

funny you say that cuz we picked up a little green machine about a month ago so ill be using tht for stains lol

Definitely don't forget the Nature's Miracle cleaning spray!

And how about a steel comb? I made the mistake of only using a brush on Tatum when she was little and in no time, she had tons of mats right at her skin. You should always comb their hair after a bath to make sure you get all tangles out at the roots.

The little green machine is good for sucking up the stains but the Nature's Miracle is an enzyme cleaner which will clean it up well enough so that they don't smell it again and go in the same spot. I would think maybe you'd use the machine to suck up any liquid and then use the cleaner to neutralize the spot. I use the cleaner inside Tatum's kennel too to freshen it up and wipe it down from time to time.

I agree - I use puppy wipes all the time for a quick clean off when they come in from outside, and I also have "puppy towels". Those were basically older towels that I had & I got myself some nice new ones!

Thanks! I will have to pick that up. and a comb. i appreciate all the help to be sure im ready. sounds like im pretty close though. so now im just gonna be staring at this empty lil xpen and crate for a few more weeks

Didnt know anything about the bene-bac either. can i pick it up at like petsmart or petco?

I got mine at petco, I like the gel. It comes in powder too. Their little tummies get upset so easy, it really helps keep their systems balanced, through stressful situations.
