Haha... I know that the bow is a little out of season but I am getting ready to start ordering bows for Maddie (her hair is finnaly topknot length:p) and I am trying to decide on what size to get. She is wearing one of Copper's 5/8 Christmas bows as an example in the pictures:) And I personally think it looks like a good size, however the sites that I look at recommend a 3/8 for her. So now I am second guessing myself, 5/8? 3/8? I know there are bigger issues in the world today:rolleyes: but I would love some input. What size bow do you order and what size is your furbaby? Also do you think the 5/8 bow looks like a good size on Maddie? or Should I order her 3/8?

I'm no expert on bows or top knots but boy is she a cutie pie. What a beautiful little girlie. P.S. Love the bow!!;)

I know absolutely nothing about bow sizes or anything like that, but I just wanted to say that I think that the bow size looks perfect to me and Maddie is adorable. :D

I thought 3/8 was just use mainly for puppies. I like the 5/8 on Maddie, and I think girls can even go up one size to the 7/8-inch, and still look good. I've seen pictures with a female dog where the bow is oversized, and it still looks great. You need a great face to break the rules, and Maddie has that, so you could go either way. I sometimes use the 3/8 on Joey when I want to add a bow, but don't want to make a big production out of it. The 7/8 just looks weird on him.. So much depends on the dogs head size, not overall size.

I think the bow you have on her looks great!! It is a very nice size on her. She has a beautiful face!

Thankyou all for your input and nice compliments, I am going to go with the 5/8, but I am also going to order a couple of 3/8 tiny pairs (so we can try on some pigtails:p)

On Copper if the bow is too big he looks silly but I agree with Nancy1999 girls can go alittle bigger, there are so many more options in the 5/8 too:).

But after reading the sites I didn't want to order all these bows and have my little dog with a bow that barely fit between her ears haha :D your opinions have really helped me feel good about getting the 5/8

Oh I love the little pigtail look, I wish I could do that on Joey. I have some teddy bear bows that would be so cute. I did want to make sure you knew that the 3/8, 5/8, and 7/8 referred to the "width" of ribbon used, not the length of the finished bow. You probably know that, but I didn't for a long time, so I just thought I'd add that.

I use the 5/8 size on Roxie. Your baby is a cutie and looks a lot like my Roxie

Yes thankyou for making sure. It took me a couple different bows with Copper to figure out what size was what:) I was going to order the 5/8 -1 1/4 that is the size that she had on in the pic. I wasn't very specific was I:)

Oh and I really love the pigtail look too, I don't know if she will be patient enough for me to do two but I am going to try. Hubby lets me do bows on Copper but NO piggies:rolleyes: But that is why I have Maddie so I can finally try all these girly things:)
