how embarrassing took charlie in to get his rabie shots at petco. Well, he has never done this before. He peed and poo inside the store after his shots. I even took him to the bathroom before we left for the shots. I was so embarrassed..Cleaned it up and we left the store right away. |
Don't be embarassed. That's what pups do. If it was after his shot he was likely stressed. Poor baby :( |
Ooh... Could it have been a reaction to the shot or something in the shot? :confused: Maybe he was like totally stressed out or anxious? I noticed you said you took him to Petco for his rabies shot... Why didn't/don't you take him to the vet? It seems like that would be better. Maybe try that next time? husband wanted to take him to petco for the rabies shot so I couldn't say no. I am not sure what it was. He was playing with a little dog who was in front of us. They were so cute. They press their nose together then step back...acted like they were afraid of each other...then come together and press their noses again. I watched him all day and night yesterday. He is fine. He has lots of energy today. |

Suzi did that at Petsmart a couple of weeks ago! I think it was because Ryan our groomer spent so long with her! Suzi was so happy afterwards, and was on her leash, went straight for the doormat, squated and did her thing:eek: after she peed> I was trying to pay for a bully stick , and rushed over to pick her up right in the middle of her potty... Too late! I got to clean up her mess , and get out of there quickly ! |
We have been going to Petco and Petsmart for years and Laya still til this day will pee on the floor every single time. It must be the smells in there:rolleyes: |
i think it was the smell. Plus yesterday, they had the animal shelter over with all their cute dogs. So it was really busy at petco with lots of other dogs around. Charlie has never really been around other dogs. He must be marking. It wasn't a lot of pee just a small amount here and there in the store. |
Oh dont worry, its very natural and expected I would think. He was proabably just nervous. It never fails whenever I take Ben into Petco, the second we walk in the door he has to take a poo, Im prepared now, so its not such a surprise anymore, lol |

That's what the clean up stations are for! Uni does it a lot too, it's just the smells in there! Too tempting! |

I, totally, wouldn't give it another thought...As several others have mentioned, it's only natural for a dog to go where they smell other dogs...And durn, he probably was not himself, after getting the shots....I bet if there was a count of how many dogs have peed/pooped in that store, it would be in the 100's lol....Don't worry about it, it's all O.K... :D |
Every time my Chachi goes into a petco or petsmart he marks. Im sure it happens all the time and they are used to it otherwise they wouldnt let dogs come in there |
