How lonely is your baby when you're gone? I just left for the weekend and my husband said that Isla wouldn't go to him at all, she slept UNDER the bed, and she hid all weekend. He had to have the kids let her outside and she sat at the top of the stairs the first night--all night--watching for my return. I don't know what to do to make her comfortable when I'm gone. What else do your babies do and what do you do to help with the transition? |
I have never left mine, but next week I am going on a trip to Sedona Az for 6 days and I am worried to death about leaving them. My dtr will be home with them and my nephew and sister helping out, but I am home so much they are so use to me being here. I am going to leave my pajama's because whenever I leave the house Pixie goes to my bed and drags my pajama's to the hall and sleeps on them. So maybe leaving a piece of your clothing with your scent will help. Did she eat ok? That's what I am worried about, even though they are chow hounds normally. |
My Sebastian is the same way. My family says whenever I leave all he does is sit on the couch ALL day staring at the door. They say he looks so sad. |
Very sweet! May be in need of a playmate... |
My friends Yorkie would do the same thing and she is 4years old. Her and her boyfriend have been living together for 2 years and Olive (the yorkie) hides as well, and has even peed on him when he picks her up. It took him losing his job and staying home more for her to be ok when my friend is gone. Now my Prince on the other hand..... when I leave him all by himself he immediatley goes CRAZY... he stops after a while and will play with his toys. He is better than he used to be. Maybe you husband and Isla should do some training together with her favorite treats and after a while she will realize that when she is with your husband is FUN AND TREAT time!!! Good Luck |
Well, my husband tries for about 2 seconds to get Isla to come to him and when she walks away he just goes, "it's like having a cat" and gives up. He's not fond of her personality. He's never been mean to her, I just don't think she likes men. She'll hide and bark at any guy-especially in hats. ??? I usually put her in her kennel if I personally leave the house with everyone and she's fine. But the problem is when I just go and she's with everyone else. It's kinda cute, but kinda worrisome. I could leave some clothes out for her to sleep on or something, I suppose...I'm not sure if she will though. |
Whenever I leave Jackson even if just for a few hours, he stays at home with my mom or stepdad. Usually someone is always home. He will come and hang with them for a while but usually he just likes chilling in my room on my bed. |
