Need help with Holy Terror That is exactly what Kayla is. She is jealous of little Dudley. She bit him tonite when my husband was getting him out of his kennel to go tee tee. I have let her play alittle with him and she seemed to do okay. But, then today she has been horrible. It gets Lexi and Tina all upset too and here we go. Poor little Dudley just cried. He is soooo little and sweet. The breeder said she did not know about other breeds but she had never seen a male and female not get along in the yorkie breed. I need to send her a picture of Kayla and say well here's the first case. She takes his toys and even Lexi submits to her. I really don't know how to teach her and I feel like taking a paper and spanking her little butt, even though I love the little wart to death. I can't let her keep on treating him like that. What would you do? |

He is only 1lb.9oz. He is going to be a little baby. I am afraid she will really hurt him. Tina and Lexi have never tried to bite him. |
I would tell her no in a firm voice and put her in another room for a few minutes to let her know you disapprove. |
I'm so sorry that your girl has a problem with the little guy. I has a two year old male and recently got a female puppy. I went through the same thing with my male, he was really mean to June when she first came to us. I would suggest that you separate them until she is better. If you have an expen, I would put him in there and let the others sniff him through it. This way, they will get used to him without being able to hurt him. How did the bite come about? What else is she doing to him? If she is snappy and snarly with him, that is just her way of teaching him some manners - puppies have no manners, they are all up in your face :p. If she is really aggressive and there are moments of tension before she launches herself at him, the best thing to do is to walk away if you see that there is tension. Better yet, sigh (or yawn) and walk away. They will probably follow you and the tension will be gone. If you can explain a little more about what she is doing to him or how the biting is happening, I may be able to help more. Good luck. Ps. Don't get upset that she takes his toys. Dogs don't have a sense of ownership, so she has no clue that all the toys aren't hers. |
they are probably not getting along if you have recently just got him...but in time they will get a long fine...i would not allow them to play unsupervised! |
