Teadybear? Someone asked me today if Zaccheus was a teddy bear. I told him that he's a Yorkie. But then he said, "Yes, but is he a teddy bear?" I must have looked all kinds of confused, because he started to explain that their Yorkie is a teddy bear Yorkie. Apparently, (according to him) they are worth more. Methinks he was "taken." Am I wrong? |
Officially there is no such a thing, but the term is used as a marketing tool to describe a look or the coat texture. I think he was taken too........:) |
Its like teacup or pocket or all those dumb names. Poor people are so clueless... lol |

Lol! You're right! I've heard the term before, but it's definitely not a valid one. There are lots of BYB's in my area that advertise their "Micro-teacup pocket teddy-bear yorkies". |

How funny! (and sad) So next time, I should say something like, "Oh, yes! He's a very valuable pocket teddy bear!" But that would probably get him stolen... I think I'll stick with the usual reply. "No, he was born with a cleft palate, and has had health problems all his life. He has a degenerative disease in his right hip, and needs expensive surgery. You should see how much I've spent on his vet care and medication!" Heehee! Oh, and he has a cotton coat, so if the coat has anything to do with it, I guess he's a teddy bear! |
Baby doll, teddy bear how confusing? He is a Yorkie! |
Teddy bear is not a coat description...it's a general term used to describe the face and shape of the head. |

I think all Yorkie puppies look like teddy bears, but some with the smaller ears do look more like toy teddy bears in the face. Sometimes when my puppy is walking she looks just like a tiny black bear from behind, the way she moves. If any of you have been to the Smokey Mountains and seen a baby black bear, you will know what I mean! |
Yep....what everyone else said. But if he thinks he's got something more special and valuable, then just let him go right ahead and think that. The joke's on him--all he really "got" was scammed. |
