my wait is over!!
 
;)After two months of looking around for a new puppie. i made the step and Bought a new yorkie. her name is Rihanna, she is 8 weeks old.
I have another pet also her name is lady, she is a 4 year old wheaten scottish terrier, she is a daddy baby.i have only had her for 1 day now and so far so good.
im trying to pad train her.so far so good thank god:rolleyes:.

Since this is my first Yorkie. is there any Big thing i need to know about:animal-pa

Congrats and Welcome. Just be sure you know the signs of hypoglycemia. When they are so young and small their blood sugar can drop quickly and they need attention immediately.

Thank you all very much..i will try to have some pics of her on friday.
so far she is doing very well ( with the pads).

At how many weeks or months did you guys wait before you got your yorkies hair cut.;)

I just cut Curly's hair for the first time last month, so she was 5 months.
I agree with the poster who said to learn about hypo glycemia. This is a HUGE one for Yorkies. It happened to Curly a couple times when she was young and had I not walked in when I did and found her all balled up, she would have died. Then I may have followed her :(
Take care of your new baby, he's very young and needs you big time!

Congrats on your new baby!! Wow I waited for a while before I got Teddy's hair cut. I love the little scruffy look that he had when I first got him. I got him when he was 3 months old and then about a month later finally got his hair trimmed! Haha you couldn't even tell I cut his hair. I finally gave in last month and stepped away from the trims and had him get his first summer cut!

Hi there, and Welcome to YT :welcome4: congradulations on your new yorkie baby!
WHen wanting to give your puppy her first hair cut, do not take her in a groomer shop, until she has had all her vaccinations. you may want to decide to do a little trimming yourself, and that is ok at home. :cool:

I agree 100% - - Our little Ally at eight weeks old suffered from this. We took her to the Vet (telephoned him a 1AM to meet us at the clinic) where he advised us to feed Ally every two hours something sweet.

I urge you to be very aware and watch your little Yorkie for any unusual signs such as becoming weak or confused. Immediately take her to your Vet. I really hope you and your puppy will do well.

And, by the way, welcome to YorkieTalk.
