New to YT and very happy to be here! We brought our little baby Boo-Bear home 2 weeks ago. Wasn't looking, just in the rgith palce at the right time to give little girl a home. She is now 16 weeks old. She is delightful and very bright. I found YT when she had injection site soreness. I was SO relieved because the day of the shot she was fine for hours until "night-night" (her bed command). The next morning when I picked her up she wailed. That sound nearly broke my heart thinking she was injured or I had hurt her. So - - Wahlah! I surf, find YT and immediately felt better seeing the intelligent and realllllllly helpful replies online about others "shots". This is an amazing community and rcih in many ways. About us: I tell you this tale for no other reason than I am AMAZED at how much joy Boo brings us! But for us, she is means SO much more than that. They say miracles are a matter of perception. I needed a "Boo" and she needed a "Rita-mommy". I beleive my life is a gift and so is my poochie. I have always known I would get a yorkie. I became seriously ill and didn't even think about adding anything to my life. Instead I felt like i kept losing parts of my life, bit by bit. I sufferred so much, went thru thousands of tests and thankfully it was mu husband who helped me to keep fighting and looking for answers. I didn't think the body could have so much pain in it and not be identifiable. Thankfully (God and husband Mike), I am not in that living hell today It was life changing, I was only 41 and felt 90. It has been a hard road, we plowed thru our savings in 2 years of non-covered expiremnatl treatement -- BUT A MIRACULOUS ONE. I will always have this illness but my life has been restored to me and as long as I am willing to keep up the footwork & faith, I will be ok and provided for. SO -- My baby, little Boo, is the "gift" we've made to ourselves in thanks and celebration of health, hope & faith. Over 4.5 years ago, I developed a debilitating and rare chronic pain condition of the central nervous system & connective tissue disorder. I thought I'd be on disability, wheelchair bound and dependent for the rest of my life. After TEN neurologists and piles of files, and miles to doctors, we found a true healer, a globally recognized specialist. The man saved my life. I am blessed in that the condition has been treated very effectively by R&D techniques and amazing medial team. Boo Bear is my daily joy. My celebration of faith, recovery, health, living and happiness. My husband is my best friend, my cheering section and the love of my life. We have been married 6 years. I beleive that God put him in my life, and put the doc and Boo-Bear on my path. We will enter puppy training this weekend. She potties on a pad (90% of the time) and is dying to play w/my youngest kitty. She loves her daddy. Let's see....She is a "french kisser" for sure! She loves wet grass oddly enough so we don't let her get too wet or cold. She has already learned sidewalk, loves people, to be held, and cottage cheese. Cannot find a treat she likes yet, but willing to keep trying. I give the opened bags/boxes to my vet to give to her clients. Enuff outta me SO HAPPY TO BE HERE!!! |
Wow, you brought tears to my eyes. WELCOME. :) I am so happy that your health improved so miraculously and that you now have this little fur monster to shower you w/ love! Your baby sounds like a lovebug. You're funny - loved your closing line "Enuff outa me". Love it. :D |
Wow is all i can say. You've been down an amazing road and i'm SO glad things have shined for you. Your lil one will bring GREAT joy! I got my girl because my husband was deployed to iraq and i was going crazy. It was so amazing to see how happy i became by having her in my life :). Well Welcome to YT and i look forward to hearing your beautiful stories in the future :) |
HA-HA -NO Laffing at my typos. :thumbdown I NEVER really learned how to type in the first place (i cut class back in days of electric typewriters) but i talk REAL fast. So usually i can hunt/peck and then "spell check" at biz and survive:-) So the worst area affected by condition was my right hand fingers 3&4. If I am rambling online, on laptop i type horribly 'cause i'm rushing and lazy. you will see lots of lower case stuff but if you can put up with it - again -- i am realllllly thrilled to have found this group. And yorkies are so incredible. You would think everyone would want one right? |
Is your hubbie still overseas? I am truly grateful for our soldiers in armed services. I know many soldiers took strays under their wings in Iraq, 'cause i do a lot of animal welfare fundraising in my biz. Babies are amazing company - more than i expected and she's only been here a few weeks. Sounds like you've got great pal too. great heart-hurt fixers w/kisses. Quote:

I couldnt find a treat Ella liked either- I bought tons of different kinds. Finally I just boiled some chicken and she loved it. I give her tiny pieces to help train! Good luck and welcome to YT. So glad you are better! How old is your baby? |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk!!!! I cant wait to see pics of you Boo-Bear!!! I have a couple french kissers Tooooo!!! Yorkies are the best! |
Ella and chicken for treats? Boo-Bear is 16.5 weeks old now and 3.5 lbs. I'm thinking she'll be approx 6 lbs max? I freeze portions of her "fromm" wet puppy food (i use it as a mixer w/dry). I wonder if i could cube up little pieces of chicken breast and do the same thing? Quote:

Cubes would probably work! I use tiny tiny pieces tho so that she doesnt get full and lose interest in the treats :) |
Congratulations on your wonderful new baby!! Welcome both of you to YT!! We'd love to see pics of Boo. :) |
Welcome to both you and Boo Bear!!! :welcome4::welcome4: |
What a touching story. I am so glad you feel better and found Boo to fill the void. Yorkies are wonderful and very loving companions! They are truly the best. They seem to learn so fast and just know when you feel down and out. Congratulations on finding your Boo and having Mike by your side. |
Welcome to YT, I know you'll enjoy this site as much as I do.. |
