Yorkie behavior? Or a quirky habit? I'd like to know if this is usual behavior , and why my Suzi does this to me. I've noticed her doing this more after I have been gone for a little while out of the house, however, she does it sometimes, when I have been home all day too. As soon as I sit on the couch Suzi suzi jumps on my chest and then rubs the side of her face and half her body under my face and chin. She repeats the behavior several times. I was thinking she does it to rub her scent on me? or is this a alpha dog behavior? Is she claiming me as her own? :rolleyes: Anther very annoying habit she tries to do, is to french kiss ! :eek: Little brat, it is gross, LOL. Does anybody have insight as to why Suzi behaves like this ? AND how about the rest of you guys? Does your Yorkie babies have quirky behaviors? if so what are they? :p Do share ! :D |
I remember reading in the past another member saying the samething. Buddy dosen't do that but the french kissing he's a master at.:eek: He aims for the mouth everytime and if you turn your head he still fights to get to it. That sounds like she just loves you and wants to be near you and is happy to see you. Much like a cat when they rub up against you I would guess. |
Coral kicks her back legs, like digging, after she gives herself a good scratch. It cracks me up because my big dogs do that after they potty. I think she may be confused! |
Roxie's a frencher and rubber too lol! When DH comes home from work and we're relaxing on the couch after dinner she does the frenching thing to him and then comes and rubs on me. Finally then she'll settle between us. Another thing she does is at bedtime I usually scratch her belly and cuddle with her a bit before falling asleep. If I stop before she thinks I should and my eyes are closed she gets me in the mouth everytime with her tongue. It's funny but not really when your very tired. :eek: |
Bailey's quirky thing is trying to get our attention in the family room - if she feels she's being ignored: First, she'll go to the middle of the room, lay on the floor and do a body shake/flop - then look to see if anyone is looking at her. She'll repeat as necessary until she has every one's attention - then give out a little bark! :) |
Ranger is still a puppy so I don't know if that has anything to do with it but at around 1:00 A.M he will get in this hyper mood and lick and try to nibble your hands. I just hug him to me and he falls back asleep. |
My little Krystal is a sometimes french-er, but the really gross thing is when she tries to clean out your nose with that long little tongue of hers:eek: Thank goodness I've learned to clench my nostrils if I feel she's going to do it. |

Honey's not a frencher but she LOVES ears! You could say she frenches ur ears cuz her tounge gets all the wax out. It doesnt bother me but its the DH.. um.... spot LMAO so he squirms like a lil kid, quite funny really. And her quirky habit is as soon as she gets on a bed (doesnt matter who's or where!) she goes NUTS! she does flips and circles and rubs and rolls, sneezes, digs, licks EVERYTHING! cute really... |
Rocky will do this to me a couple times a day (the body rub under my chin) but I've never kept track if it happens for a reason. I just wiggle him around on his back when he does this and we have great belly rub fun. I love when he does this it's like personal "us" time. |
Audrey-Belle is still pretty restrained due to her past. If she wants you to wake up she will slowly walk up to the head of the bed and (you can feel her looking at you) then very gently touch her nose to my cheek. Then stand back to see if I open my eyes. If hubby stops rubbing her back or belly before she's had enough she just scoots a little closer to his hand each time he stops. |
Scooter does lots of the stuff everyone has mentioned here. He will rub his body on my face (and hubby's too), he also does this to the other two dogs. I think it's a combination of "I love you & you're mine!". Scooter is the dominant one out of the three. He also gets us in the nostril, like "routo-rooter". In the morning he will try to wake me up by putting his nose in my hand, licking my face and if those don't work he will sit on my chest and paw at my lips. If he wants to play he'll bring a toy and scratch my hand, he does this too if he wants to be petted. He's such a funny lttle guy! |
Honey and Harley would make a great team cos Harley does exactly the same thing to his dad whenever he sits down or wakes up Harley is there lickin his ears out and nostrels...He doesn't do it to me thank god...lol..only to his dad and his dad just lets him i think its so cute and funny |

funny Every day when I get home from work, Kayden has to suck on all my fingers. I figure this is to see where all I've been while I was gone. :) And she likes to kick both of her back feet when we're giving lovin's. I call her 'Thumper'. hehe |
