Need help please! Hello everyone. I need some help. This morning when I when my husband left for work (5am) my yorkie anabelle started crying (which is normal) but it when on for a while so I went down there to try and get her to stop (she sleeps in the kitchen) well she had diareah (bad spell sorry) all over the kitchen, and a little bit of vomit. Twice while I was cleaning it up she kind of gagged like she was going to vomit again, but didn't. We don't feed her anything but puppy food and puppy treats, although last night I dropped a piece of popcorn and she ate it bofore I could get it. That is the only thing to my knowledge she had yesterday, other then her food. I don't know what is wrong with her, but I'm worried since she's never been sick like this before. Its to early to call my vet and I don't know what to do. I'm going to have to leave for work in an hour and half and she'll be alone. Do puppies just sometimes get sick (she's 7 months old) or should I be really worried? Any help would be so great. Thank you! |
I would like to welcome you to YT. It might be seperation anxiety, not sure, I would definetly keep a close watch on her, maybe you can come home on your lunch break and check on her , or have a friend check on her for you. I would have her checked by a vet if this keeps going on. I am sure some of the other members here will offer you some great advice. Hang in there, I am sure she will be ok. :) |
It really is scarey, isn't it. Puppies do just get sick....or it could be something more. Make sure your puppy is eating and drinking. If you have Nutrical, give it to her before you leave for work. You'll need to keep her sugar level up and make sure she doesn't get dehydrated. It happens so quickly with the little ones. If she won't drink on her own, put water in a syringe (sp?) and stick it in the back corner of the mouth to dispense (not the front). The pup will swallow the water right down. I hope you will be able to check on her today. Please let us know how she is doing. If this is still going on when you get home at the end of the day and she won't eat or drink, I'd definetly take her to the vet. PLEASE let us know how she is doing. I pray she will be well next time you check on her. |
to be on the safe side ring your vet for advice and see what they say wendy and rosie :rose: :yorkiesar |
Thank you all for the help. I'm sure I will be able to come home this afternoon, usually I'm done early on Fridays anyway. She hasn't gotten sick since I went in there first thing this morning, so for about an hour she's been ok. Hopefully that was all it was! I think I will still call the vet though just to be sure. Thanks again for the help, I'm so worried about her! |
