Rude people!!
 

So this isn't about my yorkie sorry but I just have to share because this really p***ed me off! We were walking both dogs at the park, we have a very large park near by with lots of trails, well we were walking down one of the commonly used trails and I was walking a bit ahead with Stormy and my hubby was behind me a bit with our other dog and my daughter. I had stopped on the side to let Stormy sniff some grass and two ladies and a man walked by with a little girl and I heard them say " what an ugly looking dog " I looked at them and saw they were looking at out other dog, they looked over at me and kind of smiled and giggled. My jaw just sort of dropped as they passed me. I then turned around to walk towards my hubby. My hubby was stopped on the side of the grass as well and was turned around calling my daughter to come over to him and wasn't facing our other dog that was on a leash. The man just CAME UP TO Geneva and kneeled down to pet her, my hubby turned around and just pulled on her leash and said com'on and walked away ( he doesn't like to sit around and chit chat ) as he does this the guy stands up and says to him " THANKS ALOT YOU A**HOLE! My hubby just turned around and said NO PROBLEM! and walked off.

A**hole? Excuse me they just called MY DOG UGLY AND THEN GO PET HER WITHOUT EVEN ASKING!!!!!!!!

What's with peoples manners!! and theres TWO CHILDREN AROUND while this guy is saying this!! I wanted to punch him out! :mad:

That's one of my pet peaves (no pun intended) is when someone comes up and just pets one of my dogs without asking. what if they were to spook them and they bit whose fault would it be, mine. I've always taught my children to ask before they pet anyones dog.

We had a little girl ride up to us on her scooter the other day and drop the scooter and ran up to my 65 pound mutt and started petting him. Luckily he's use to kids but what if it had been a dog who wasn't.

I'm telling you I just don't understand people in the world today. So much rudeness. You did the right thing (even though you'd love to punch them out) setting a good example for your daughter and not having confrontation. You really don't want your kids growing up thinking it's ok to react to every rude person. Not knowing if the rude person is just looking for a fight and could be like a bomb waiting to go off with a gun in their pocket. It's better to just be the better person IMHO. I get mad at my Mom for this alot. She thinks it's her job to point her finger or lash her tongue at someone doing something she doesn't like. I tell her to stop it that she might end up doing that to the wrong person someday! You just never know.

Should also add that it is very scarey that people just walk right up and approach a dog big or small. That's just lack of intelligence.

That would have made me livid too! Insulting your dog and then, what? -- thinking they could take the liberty of being your dog's buddy? I don't like it when people come up to my dogs or my babies (way back when my 3 sons were babies) and think they can lay their hands on without asking. I would never dream of touching another person's pet or children without knowing them or at least striking up a conversation comfortable enough to ask for permission first. How are we to know they aren't contagious or something more sinister?

Sorry you had a miserable experience in the park today. Especially sorry your daughter had to bear witness to such rudeness.

OMG the nerve of some people. I don't know how you held your tongue. I mean I'm not a much of a mouth to talk back but I might have said something I would have regretted.....lol

I agree wholeheartedly w/Roxies Mom. As badly as you may want to fight back, its best to ignore the morons and go on about your business. I know how difficult it is tho, when I was younger I would get right in someone's face but now I don't. There are too many crazies out there. A shouting match is one thing, I hate to admit it but it can feel pretty good now and then, but these days it can escalate to a dangerous situation in a heartbeat. Plus, with your daughter there you don't want her exposed to the ugliness some ppl put out there. I'm sorry this happened to you but you did the right thing. Good control.

either that or on drugs :eek: If so it was best to ignore them altogether. People these days , you never know what their intentions are. I would be very, very angry if that were me, however, I would have tried to get away from them as fast as possible .
People like that are also unpredictable.

Wow...that guy sounds like a total a$$hole! Kaia and Riker are just starting to learn how to walk on the leash, so when people crouch down to pet them it gets a little annoying having to get the pups back in "walk" mode.

This one attendant in our building is really disrespectful. Although I know he's just trying to be nice and really likes my puppies, he'll pick them up without asking and won't put them down until I tell him "We have to go now!" He thinks it's funny to call them back to him, when they are following me back upstairs or to go outside. One time, my little girl Kaia was so wiggly, he almost dropped her! I was outraged!!!! :mad: I really do not like people I don't know picking up my pups, let alone petting them.

Lately, I don't even give him the opportunity to pick them up or pet them as I carry them until they are outside. It's not that I don't like people, I just don't see why people feel the need to "touch" other people's pets without permission.

How horribly rude! And what nerve! I agree. You and your family really took the high road by not saying anything nasty back. I'm sure that took a lot of self control!
Those people need to learn that they can't just say whatever and think it's not a big deal. And cursing like that in front of children is just not okay.

When I still had my little poodle, one of my mom's friends said she looked like a rat! I was so incredibly offended. My pup, Moxie, was about 12 years old and blind. It was a total hit to my heart. My pup may not have been the most gorgeous creature ever, but I loved her dearly and she was absolutely beautiful and precious in my eyes and that's all that matters. I didn't say anything then to mom's friend, but I later commented to mom that all that plastic surgery made HER look like the rat.
Made me feel a little better. :)

I love your hubby's response. It shows who the @$$hole really was. It is weird the way some people think that other peoples pets/children are public property? They should have asked before approaching your dog. It's common sense really :confused:

I am so mad for you right now!!!:mad: Talk about disrespectful! Man, I had a time a couple came into my shop. The guy called Uni a rat, the girl stepped on her (Uni squealed!) and didn't apologize or even acknowledge it! So I picked up Uni and just ignored them waiting for them to leave. Then, when they leave the guy calls me a *itch! What?! Oh no he didn't! So I went outside and confronted him. He kept talking back trying to act all tough, but all the while, he was walking away from me. What a coward, he couldn't even call me a *itch to my face, he had to passive aggressively do it. Ooh I was so mad. It still makes me mad!:mad:
