getting spayed tomorrow....eeek! So Coral is getting spayed tomorrow. I am a little nervous, but okay in general. They use the sevoflourane for anesthia, so i am good with that, but i have a few more questions for you guys.... Has anyone used a baby onesie (sp?) after surgey to help with the licking? I can't imagine putting a cone on her, and i thought i have heard that some of you have done that. If so, how did it work out? Did you just cut a little hole for her nub (tail)? I have 2 other dogs (big ones), how long should i keep them apart? Any other advice? |
I know when I had Pebbles and Trixie done they were really tired and mushy for the first day. I bought the onsies and I bought a cone (just in case) I really didn't need either they didn't bother with the stitches. I know they have those soft cones now, they didn't have them when my girls were spayed. The onsie I out on Trixie only and she slept in her crate for the first few nights. Coco and Pebbles would sleep right outside the crate so they were near her (so cute) By the time the morning came that little rascal had the onsie totally off!!! I was just really careful when I picked her up. You can't pick her up under the arms because it stretches the midsection. You have to kind of scoop them up by their butt so they don't stretch. Also no jumping. Be careful of the couch/bed etc. Good luck hope all goes well for your baby! Sending big hugs for a quick recovery. :ghug: |
thanks! Thanks for the advice and hugs! I would have never of thought about how i needed to pick her up! I will try and keep you all updated! |
