Gus pulled a Timmy,,,,,, I am sitting here on YT of course and turn to make sure both Cherish and Gus are ok. Well Cherish is sitting here on the sofa watching Dora like a good girl. Gus on the other hand is not in the room,,,,, not good. I first call out to him and nothing,,,,,,, so I go and look for him. He was in the bathroom having a ball unwinding the toilet paper roll. Cherish left some hanging long enough for him to reach because he can reach the roll by himself. He stopped dead in his tarcks when he heard me coming and just lowered his body to the floor. I told him "go lay down you bad boy!" He got up and pulled one of those,, swaying from side to side, looking for the best way to get around me without getting it. He walks slowly around me and when he finally passes me, he takes off running to his crate. Now he's just sitting there looking at me out of the corner of his eyes with his ears down. My son does the same thing. They make it seem like I beat them or something. I am just so happy he didn't have enough time to shred the roll this time! I'll give him 5 more minutes in time out. But his little face looks so sad! |
Someone else mentioned 'timeout' for dogs. Do you think that it really works? When Thor knows he's been bad he runs away like a mad man all over the house!!...not to his crate |
where is bad dogs time out? |
I think he feels it's his safe place. He runs in there evertime he gets into trouble. Time out is anyplace like any one of his beds in the house, but mostly his crate. He knows that he's in trouble and will run there anyway. I just make him stay there by saying time out! He will try and get up sometimes and all I have to do is point my finger to the bed or crate and say no time out Gus. And back he goes. I never wanted to make the crate seem like a bad thing and only use it for time outs and I dont think he sees it as a bad thing. I just think he feels safe in there. He doesnt just use his crate for time outs. He uses it to eat and play and to hide things. I don't just leave him in there alone. I will put him in a time out in the same room I am in. I would never leave him alone when mad at him. But he does know that I am mad and will stay there till it's ok to come out. |
LOL! I know that "guilty...I've been caught" look all too well :) |
LOL SO BUSTED ! They get the BIGGEST GUILTY Faces I swear - if they had to go to court they'd be convicted over their expression alone ! that's so cute he waited till he got by you and ran like a bat outta **** :D they're so funny - |
I cant tell you how many toilet rolls I have had to rescue from prudence! :) dianne and prudence :) |
LOL......at least it's TP!!! I hate when Buster goes on a panty raid!! :thumbdown  |
This is my first Yorkie, but I've always had dogs all my live. I have never had a problem disciplining them. But, what a problem I have with Desi. I caught her chewing the edge of my wall after we spent the weekend painting the house and she actually chewed out chuncks of the wall, but, when she looks at me with those big eyes, and does that little head tilting from side to side- Thats it.. its done, she has me. But, I was strong and put her in time-out in her x-pen for 15 minutes. I think I suffered more than she did. |
