I pulled Jemma's tooth out!!! No not with pliers or anything like that. I was looking in her mouth and saw a tooth kinda sticking out the side of her gum. I didn't panic and looked closer and touched it. It was hanging by a thread. I then saw the second tooth. Oh my, double set of teeth. So I took the loose one and just a tiny tug and viola. She didn't even flinch. It probably would have came out when she started on her bully stick. However, what are their fangs called? You know the ones Dracula sticks in your neck? Yup those. I noticed on the bottom she does have two teeth where doubles are coming in. Is there a possibility that the old ones will come out like the one today? Or is it a definite pull? Thank you all for replies. Carol and Jemma |
I think you mean the canines lol. Tia didn't have any removed during her spay as thats when they normally do it so she has a double upper set of canines at the moment. Vet said give it a few months, shes 11 mths now so they may come out, if not an op.Unless you want to nip round and give a tug lol |
I saw one of Jackson's like that so I gave him a bully stick and it was gone lol. I think he swallowed all of his baby teeth, I never saw one anywhere. But yeah, the canines. That's where Jackson had issues. He had double sets of teeth on top and bottom canines so he got those pulled while under for his neuter. |
Andy had a hell of a time where his teeth were concerned .he had them in the roof of his mouth ,sticking out sideways. Two sets of teeth all the way around he was so uncomfortable .The vet had to pull 19 teeth he was in that bad of shape there was more below the gum line that above .I had him nutured at the same time to save him from going under twice but he was some sore at both ends .I have the picture and the teeth from the vet I will add picture to my photo album so you can see what I mean |
ahh bless poor baby, i would like to see those pics |
I have put them in my photo album have a look :) |
I did go and look, left a little message. Poor baby |
I've used a small towel to grab onto a baby tooth in the back to pull it out. As long as you don't wiggle it, & it pulls out easily, it's ok. I don't think it even bled...:p |
Most Uni's baby teeth fell out on their own. She's got a double fang on the top left side though which I have to floss between LOL. I found most of her baby teeth and I saved them. They're so tiny! |
ok this sounds like a yorkie thing. since im new i guess i had better be watching her teeth. i heard from other yorkie owners they had alot of dental problems but never knew what .i heard double rows of teeth but never what that meant. is it expensive to have teeth pulled? are the babies in pain? |
Teddy just had to have his upper puppy fangs pulled today! The adult ones have been in for awhile now. The vet said to give it til he was 8 months old. We have most of his other puppy teeth too. The vet gave us the 2 from today that were rock-solid in his mouth. They are super long. Poor little guy is very cuddly and quiet tonight. It cost $219 for the surgery and $55 for pain meds. |
My dog is a year and four months old. He had two sets of double canine teeth on his upper jaw. He just lost both of them this month. I thought they would never come out, and I was looking forward to getting them extracted. |
I haven't had any problems with Cookie's teeth. Guess I'm lucky. She has lost lots of them and I have found them every where from my bed to the litter box. lol |
Wow, sounds like the tooth fairy would go broke at some of your houses!! |
Canines Mr. Darcy had double lower canines and Dr. Helton extracted them while attending to Mr. D's neutering and microchipping. His comment was that Yorkies commonly "hold onto" teeth. Suggested that double teeth can mis-shapen the mouth or force a second into the skin or jaw. I was ready to have his taken out after that. Mr. Darcy had no pain and was his usual sweet self by evening. |
