How Many Of You "Pluck" or Do You "Cluck" LOL ...How many of you "pluck" your furbabys hair from the ears or do you "cluck" like a chicken and have the vet or groomer do it for you....I am the big chicken when it comes to this and I have my groomer do it for me. It's said this does not hurt them ...but I just cant make myself do it! :p |

I've tried, its wasn't good. He is going to the groomer from now on to get his ears plucked. |
I am one of those "pluckers". I had the vet do it for me one time and saw how easy it was to do . (and charged me $7.00) I started doing it my self after they told me that they do not have nerve endings there to actually hurt them. |
I do it myself. Sophie doesn't seem to mind as long as I give it a little rub or let her scratch it a little after each pluck. It seems to tickle. It takes a little time but it's not a bad job. |
I dont get it...kelsey has some hair in her ears is that what your referring to? |
The first time Romeo had it done, he had a ton..the vet did it and he screamed bloody murder...now the groomer does both dogs...I wait on them when they go...they both scream..I couldn't take it if I did it!!! |
Man, I am chicken too! I usually cut all of my dogs nails at home here with the exception of Teddy. He moved once and I cut the nail too short and I made him bleed so from that point on whether it be hair, nails or whatever I leave it to the professionals. |
I pluck!! And I am so proud of it because I am usually a clucker too! |
I'd love to be a plucker but I'm to much of a clucker! Maybe one of these days I'll get the nerve up! |
I was a clucker until I finally decided to give it a try. She didnt scream but did scratched it a bit after plucking. Good think that she doesnt have a lot so is pretty fast. I dont like to torture her. |
can someone tell me how far down the ear is the hair where we have to pull? |
I ask are Vet if I should pluck My baby's inner ear and She said that the hair in there helps to keep moister out to leave it alone ? Tami |
wow, now im really confused |
What a relief to hear that I am not the only "clucker " when it comes to this! :p |
I'm a total clucker! Luckily, my cousin is a professional groomer. I don't pluck, cut nails, express anal glands, I do give baths though! |
Im a clucker! I let the groomer do it too. |
I don't do either...I shave the inside (as much as I can with a hair trimmer) and thats about it. I think that plucking would hurt him and I don't think he would stand for it at all! I think his ears are still cute! Am I a bad mommy? |

I guess you can call me a clucker, because I don't do it, I do however groom Bell myself and I trim the ear hairs inside but never pluck them, I feel they need that small amount of hair, it protects the inner ear. |
Well, I have always been a clucker. But now I groom them totally by myself, except for that. So, yesterday, I had to take my Chewy in...she had a foxtail in one ear, and both ears had an accumulation of wax and hair in there. The vet plucked her ears, and told me to keep the hair out of there (not way down in, just near the opening). He grabbed a lot, and she didn't flinch. Then he shaved around there, too. It made her face look a little thinner....lol............so I am going to try it from now on. |
