bug bite??? help! I just took izzy out to go to the bathroom, and when we came in i noticed that he was trying to get something off of his paw. i picked him up and i believe it was a bug and i knocked it off. well when we got in the house he was crying a little and kept licking his paw like maybe the bug bit him. I checked his paw and didnt see anything but it looks like it is in pain and he seems really uncomfortable like he can barely walk on it. And its shaking a little...you know kind of like if your arm was hurting from a bite or something. What do you think it could be? i feel bad because he seems to be in pain. please help! |
a bee? spider? pinch a bug? I would keep an eye on it and worse case, call a vet in the a.m. |
I've been bit by spiders before, and it is very painful and itchy. Imagine how it feels our your babies! Keep an eye on it, call the vet if you see any swelling. I think liquid benadril (for kids) may work, but I'm not sure about that. Let's see what other YTers say. |
Bluebelle was stung by a wasp and the vet recommended putting vinegar on it to neutralise the sting - not sure if it applies to whatever bug it was.... |
Yeah, Im thinking it was a spider. I havent seen any swelling and he seems to be okay. Doesnt look like his paw is in anymore pain. But Im going to keep an eye on him. |
I would be more concerned about it if it had been an indoor spider bite------brown recluse. Of course, it could have been a bee or wasp. Keep an eye on him.I had a poodle years that had respitory distress over a wasp bite. Had to rush her tothe vet. We were speeding whe a policeman came along beside us. I was holding the dog, and crying. I pointed to my dog, and the policeman waved us on. |
I'd keep an eye on it. Some bugs can really make a dog sick. If it doesn't get better, or if more symptons start I'd call the vet in the am. |
