Do you ever wake your Yorkie up intentionally? Do you ever wake your Yorkie up intentionally? Once in a while, when Yoda gets into a really deep sleep mode, his body doesn't move at all, and it FREAKS us out. We actually do bother him and just poke him a little bit to make sure he's still breathing and with us. Gives us quite a scare! |

Only if they seem to be having a really bad dream do I wake them up. I would also do it if it looked like they weren't moving at all. |
OMG!! I so do that. I will be sitting on the couch and she will crawl on my lap and go to sleep. Then after like 5 mins she hasn't moved and I worry so I wake her. I do it at least once a day. But then again I am a tad overprotective. |
Sometimes I wake mine up cause they just look so darn cute sleeping and I have to get my hands on them :) |
Absolutely!! Sometimes Toto sounds like she is is having a bad dream [scary or painful] and I just rub her a little until she seems to be sleeping more peacefully! OK ... OK, sometimes I just wake her up to play!!!! ;) |
I do that to bentley too if he doesnt move..I have to make sure hes breathing..and sometimes i just wake him up to get him back...and then i'm like come on bentley i wanna play..you can't sleep i wanna play!! b/c that's what he does to me EVERY morning |
I do that all the time with Zues just because I miss his company. He is just so adorable I wanna give him kisses so I wake him up. He doesn't seem too happy, but is always willing to give a few kisses!! :p |
i wake Thor up sometimes too! It's usually when I can't resist how cute he is!! I woke him up to make sure e was still alive more when he was a puppy because he was so tiny! Hey, he waked me up all the time when he's bored, why can't I do the same :p At least it's not at 3am! :D |

Ido the same with Rosi, when she is not moving ! |
Your dogs sleep? not fair When he was a puppy, well younger he's still a puppy, and would go to sleep i would worry about him. Especially since he would sleep on his side with his one leg straight out like rigmortis was setting in, but I'd just make myself wait and watch for him to breath. If he is having a bad dream I will rub him a little to get him to settle down. I think it's really cute when they run or bark in there sleep. |
I am always waking her up or feeling if she is still breathing!! I am such a worrier! Gracie always sleeps so heavily it scares me...the other night i pulled her out of her kennel to get in bed with me and when i sat her down she flopped down...didn't move....she was SO tired....but it scared me to death!!! |

I'll wake Amos up if he's having a bad dream. I can always tell because he starts to whine and shake a little. I don't want him to be scared :( |
Sometimes I stare at Prince while he's sleeping and then just get the sudden urge to bother him and kiss him all over. He wakes up, rolls his eyes at me and sighs loudly. I think his attitude is so cute. He got it from his momma. Lol. |
lol yeah.. I let Chloe sleep wtih us one night.. when I woke up and touched her she didn't move at all.. I was afraid I rolled over on her and squished her, so I shook her a little.. still didn't wake up.. finally she did though. I also do it when they are having bad dreams.. and my husband does it when they are snoreing too loud lol. |
I wake them when they seem like they havent moved. Also sometimes because they are just so cute when they are sleeping and I couldn't resist. |
I wake Chewy from bad dreams (he can cry and bark and all kinds of stuff without waking up). Otherwise I just watch his chest, if I can see faint movement, I know it's o.k. We have a joke in the house about how dead he looks. "Uhoh...looks like we have a dead dog in the lviing room...." I might joke (after I'm sure that he's in fact not...) |
Lily Mae is such a sound sleeper, sometimes i think he is dead!! I will kick the cage and she wont move.. It scares the bejesus out of me.. I will finally see her jump, look at me with tired eyes and go right back to sleep!! i am glad I am not the only one who worries about the furbabies when they are sleeping |
Gus has scared me a couple of times. One time I was brushing him and he fell asleep,,,,,, I mean his tiny body went limp. I was moving him and even turned him on his back and he did not move. I picked him up to my face and called out his name and he finally woke up. Another time, we were on the sofa watching tv and we both fell asleep. I woke up and felt him next to me but he was not moving. I went to pick him up and again his body was limp. I put him down and put my ear against his tummy to see if he was breathing, Thats when he woke up. Gus is a very deep sleeper. Sometimes he don't even wake up when someone rings the door bell. |
wake sleeping dogs :) yes i find myself waking chewie at least twice a week whenever he's had a slow day i worry about everything. :aimeeyork |
Oh, so we're not the only super overprotective worrying Yorkie parents out there... Yes, from really scary dreams, we'll wake up him up too. |
If I don't see her chest raising and falling, I think she's not breathing so I wake her to make sure she's ok. But, I did that to my kids too ;) |
I do.It's soooo cute when Neo lays upside down.I just have to pet his belly. Heather |
I have to poke and prod at Luigi every morning!!!! He is such a deep sleeper, he is hard to wake up. We even lift his legs up and play with his paws, and still doesn't wake up!!!! When we finally get him to wake up---he grunts and pushes his head into the pillows!!!!!!!!!! |
