I had been looking at ads for a reasonably price puppy and got tons of scam responses. Probably like 10. It is getting worse every day out there.

I really almost fell for it because it was a 11 month old puppy and the ad said it was just not working , the family both worked and they found out the wife was pregnant... so they needed to rehome , they had the cutest picture and everything.... my heart sank I was really disappointed because it didnt seem like a puppy scam ad, it was more like a person who worked full time and was having a baby. Ill bet that a few people did fall for it :eek:

I know it sucks! before i found my baby i got taken by one of these guys too! the best thing we can do is pass it along to other people and remember if it seems to good to be true then it probably is!!!!!:animal36

ok please no one laugh .really im not stupid just new to the computer never new there were scams and thought everthing posted had been checked out and traceable if needed. but i sent for 2 puppies shipping cost only 180.00 each and paid money gram from donolua which i did not know was in africa. next day email said from airport wanting 500.00 more for air conditioned crate unforeseen weather. my airport laughed at me SCAMMED they said. i was so disappointed i had pics of my pups and everything. so there are a few of us out there still falling for this. really though im alot wiser now.lol

I called our newspaper and they removed the ad from tomorrows print and from the internet site. Really, I may have fallen for it if I hadn't seen it on here before. I hope that you didn't send the additional $500!!! I hope you contacted the authorities in your area. I am sure you probably didn't get your money back either. Scammers just make my skin crawl! The email that I received today had pics also, I am sure that I have a virus now on my computer for looking at them.

I in my intial search for my Stormy's Little Bear, signed on to Puppy Finders.com, the only place I listed any contact info for myself. Since then, I have 4-5 free puppy, I am in Africa, free puppies, my parent(s) have suddnly died, would you want a free puppy, on and on. Anything free - watch for the traps.

With all of my research more than 6 months, my little man, was real close to a puppy mill rescue. I got the pedigree and searched it, the grandparents are from a breeder that was sited for neglect and cruelty here in Illinois. Pedgigree review first, then call breeders, the reputable ones give you so much good advice. Thanks Jeanette, you have been such a help. There will be a special place for you in the garden of the Golden Bridge.

no i didnt pay the extra 500.00 i called my airport first when i saw that the airport who supposely emailed me for money was in africa as i wanted to know if they had a quantine period or something and they told me you cant get dogs shipped here from africa and they had a running leger of amounts people were scammed for and took my info. plus i filled out police report but they told me there is no way i would get money back or that they can catch these people and they know it so it will cont. to go on.
