Removal of bully stick
 
Ok so I try to take Laya's bully stick away when it gets too short. Tonight when I went to take it she went nuts. She acted like if you take my bully I will bite your hand off. She was growling and acting crazy. Anyone else have this problem:confused: I finally was able to grab it and then she was fine afterwards and went to sleep.

If your baby knows the drop it command, take a little treat and say drop it. Once she will drop, take away the bully stick and give her a treat. Soon she will learn that by dropping it she gets a reward and eventually you do not have to use the treat anymore. I also learned that by holding it the whole time while they chew makes it easier to take it away. ;)

So funny, she will drop anything else for a treat, but not that bully stick. I guess it's better than the treat!!! Maybe I will have to hold it while she eats it. It's worth a try.

Good post. Another thing you can do is implement NILIF. She needs to understand that everything is yours including the bully stick. Everything she has is given on loan from you to her.

:lol tearsOh boy, that is funny. Maxi tried to hide it when he knew I was gonna take it away and the drop it with treats worked for us. There is a mystery you gotta solve. :D Is there anything else she goes bananas for except the bully? If you won't be able to solve it, definitely try holding it. ;)

I usually trade out the bully sticks, I always keep a couple new ones in the house so when it gets too small I bring the new one out and they drop the old one.
