Laser Pointers My husband has a laser pointer and has played with Lexi, my four month old Yorkie, and she is frantic. The pointer is like doggie crack. Has anybody else had this experience or is it just Lexi? We are retiring the pointer before she needs a sedative.:eek: |
Yeah, dogs can get obsessed with it. It is majorly addictive. You get the tension build up of the chase over and over again, but never the release of actually catching your prey. |

I was thinking about getting one of these for Carson and Bail but it sounds like it's a bad thing so I don't think I will. :eek: |
Laser Pointers=Doggie Crack Our Lab loved these and did not act this way. I walked Lexi for about half a mile and she was still frantic. I put her in her kennel and she is settling down now. |
My Aunts dog loves em we thought it was hilarious that he went so frantic with them. He knew where his was and as soon as my cousin would go over by the wall where it was placed he would jump up and spin/bark ect. I actually done it with Chloe, but she just looked at me like I was crazy and went on her merry way:rolleyes: I didnt know it could be "addicting" for them though... scary. Now I'm glad she didn't like it. |
Roman goes crazy over laser pointers! For some reason is makes him eat his food. He's very finicky so when he's not eating all we have to do is pull out the lazer pointer and and gobbles his food right up! I dont know if that's a bad thing or not...but we try not to do it too often |
laser pointer I to seen the dog whisper were they had a dog that was so crazy over that pointer that it looked at the ground all the time trying to find the red dot... It was really sad to think that a dog could be so hooked on the dot its all it thought about... And yes they did have to retrain the dog... No laser for Molly ever!!!!:eek: |
General Lee loves the laser. Yes, he gets a bit wound up, but not bad and when I say that it is all gone, he will look for a minute or two and then is back to himself. During very bad weather we use it as a form of exercise as we have stairs and he will run up and down until his little tongue is hanging out. All I have to do is pick it up and he starts to look for the light. Aside from the barking, he handles it very well and like I said will stop when told to. |
