Weird yorkie-puppy pricing
 
:confused: This morning I was reading my local paper and saw yorkie puppies for sale. I noticed they were selling them $500. without AKC and with AKC $1000.
Does anyone have an explanation for that kind of pricing?

i don't understand it either. Before I bought my puppy last week, someone on here contacted me and offered a puppy for 300 without the papers and told me the ones with papers would be higher. I told them I wasn't interested in a dog with no papers or even a dog with limited registration. That is also something you have to watch out for esoecially if you are wanting to have babies in the future. Some people will slip that "limited" thing in one you. That was a question I asked my breeder before I purchased my puppy .

That does sound very odd. Maybe they are just trying to appeal to different types of people looking for Yorkies, some people REALLY care about AKC registration, whereas some people don't care at all...

Some breeders don't want to be bother with papers as most peoples don't want the registration papers .

There is nothing wrong for a breeder to place a limited registration to a dog . Some breeders are so irresponsibles that the minute they have a male and a female , they breed them . Some of those Yorkies are so uglies , its is a real miracle that the female became pregnant .

Here in Alberta it is almost impossible to buy a registered yorkie with breeding rights. I have heard of cases where people have had to spend over $2000 on females that were over 2 years old just to have one with full registration to breed. It seems that most of the breeders here sell with a spade/neuter contract and are extremely careful of who they give breeding rights to.

that makes no sense ..the cost of registering the entire litter with AKC is about $40.00...perhaps they have complications with a stud (sire) and the stud mom charges to sign off the AKC papers.

In Canada , the cost for registering a litter is from $40.00 to $80.00

If you are member of the club , the cost is lower .
