Pet Carseat I'm planning on buying a carseat for my dogs in the near future. My question is this: Should they SHARE a carseat big enough to hold 2 small dogs, or should they have their own carseat? If they share a carseat and 1 dog gets sick and throws up, it will get all over the other dog. Or if 1 dog has an accident and pees, the other dog will get dirty too. But they're so close and attached to each other that they may get upset if they're not sitting together. They always cuddle and sleep together. They're practically inseperable. Also, I know that they both like to look out the window so a booster carseat is a must. Are carseats big enough for a dog to lay down in? That is also a must because Jim and I do A LOT of traveling. We love to take road trips so I want my dogs to be able to lay down and sleep in their carseat and be extra comfy. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that Katie is 2.6 lbs and Codie is 6 lbs. So they can easily fit into a carseat that accomodates 2 dogs and is comfy. |
Maybe try one carseat at first and see how the two of them do together. If it doesn't seem to work out, you could always purchase another one. ;) |
Great advice. I use the large carseat for two but they have an extra large too. I use a dual leash strap used for walking two dogs on the same leash to attach to the seatbelt to fasten them both securely. |
Do they make carseats for 2 dogs? |

And I also think that you should start with one. Being the lazy person that I am thinking of getting a 2nd so that I can just permanently keep on in the hubby's car as well. No need to transfer. |
