A sibling for my baby
 
Hi, I wanted to get my baby a sibling. I want to get her a little sister, but a friend told me that two girls in the same house would be nothing but chaos as they would fight constantly to prove their dominance. Is that true? Is it better to get her a little brother, or will she be ok with a little sister?

Also, my baby is litter box trained. I am assuming that I will need to get a second litter box? Or will they be able to share?

LOL NO, this is NOT TRUE! I have 4 girls inside and one boy(2 girls have been spayed and the boy has been neutered), one little girl is 11 mos and too small yet to have spayed, but wil lhave it done this summer and the other little girl will be used for breeding. Mine have NEVER fought. I also have a golden retriever(female) and german shepherd (female) outside who have never fought! Mine are pee pad trained, they all share the same pee pads

ive got 3 females they never had a fight they love each other . 1 germenshepard who's going 2 b 9 years old next month 1 yorkie 3 years old & 1 chihuahua who will b 1 next month

:aimeeyork:aimeeyorkI have had as many as 5 females at 1 time & at present 3 females with a puppy that I am keeping from my litter. Yes they do fight. My sister had 2 male Yorkiies & yes they fought. My father had a male & a female & yes they fought. Whatever your choice you run the risk of fights. It depends on how psychologically balanced they are.
In the wolf pack you have a hierarchy of the dominant Alfa, the Beta, & at the lowest end of the order is the Omni. You may have fights when the dominance is challenged, when order needs to be restored, or jealousy. Be careful not to pay too much attention to the new puppy when it arrives in your home. Your baby may feel neglected. Try watching, The Dog Whisperer, on The National Geographic Channel (in my area) on Friday evenings. Caeser Millan deals with all types of canine behavioral problems & gives you great insight how to correct the unwanted conduct.

Thanks everyone! I guess I will just chance it and go ahead and get her a sister. Good thing because I have already picked out a name, and I think it would be odd to have a boy named Pixiedust. I'm going to wait until she turns 1 though.
