This is an ad I saw on craigslist... It made me so upset!

Wow.

I can't believe people these days. America has seriously taken a pathetic appearence when it comes to animals. I understand people treat them as family members and all that bulls**t, but who cares what YOU DO WITH YOUR PETS. someone elses animal is none of your damn business. I have had many many animals in my life and have shot 4 of them. ive had animals that have bitten me, bitten friends that they have been around for a long time, and destroyed property. What would you do if your animal was bitting someone for no reason? my dog didn't growl, bark, or make any kind of signal that he was upset with the person in any way. he just decided to turn a bite them. i wont tolerate that.

when an animal doesnt work out for me, i will find a new home for them. i dont care who it goes to, i just make sure its not my problem anymore. ive never left an animal outside of one of the nasty shelters that are in the tri cities, nor have a left an animal at the park or at the end of some random road. i make sure it goes to some family where i dont have to deal with it. i left a 4 month old puppy with a family that had 2 other dogs and a 5 foot by 5 foot back yard. but the animal is not mine and no longer an issue for me. they wanted it and was denied an animal from a shelter because their animals are not neutered. i recently got a new puppy and i intend on keeping him for a year, and then i will find a new home for him. i dont like keeping the same animal for an extended amount of time because i get bored of them and i like change. i dont beat them or starve them or leave them alone for weeks at a time...i take care of my animals to the fullest extent. i just dont keep them forever. at least im not running a puppy mill and leaving animals in a shopping cart with a piece of metal over them!

so...before you decide to jump on my case about my past animals....ask yourself one question, since you like asking questions...

Do you have a direct connection to me? Do you know me? Do you have any idea who i am, where i live, or what i do for a living??? NO! YOU DO NOT! so my life, my animals, and what i do with them is none of your business.


I am sure it will get flagged soon, but it upsets me to see this. It is disheartening :mad:

What a dumbf*ck this person is. I clicked the link, and it has already been flagged, thank god. Good job CouversMom! Some people should not be able to own animals or have childern.

I really don't think that that's for real. To me, it sounds like someone who has waywayway too much time on their hands and is looking to upset people. at first I believed it, but then I got to this part:

and that sounds, to me, like someone who's full of crap and looking to start stuff.

This person is pretty screwed up whether or not their story is real. If it is, I hope that the dog they have and any future dogs they may have find better homes than they start out with.

I agree...whether it's real or not....it's definitely sick either way!

I have been doing some in-depth research, looking at available furbabies on petfinder and on other websites over the past few days, and I am appalled by people's lack of compassion and emotional detachment. I had no idea the condition that many, many defenseless, helpless animals are forced to live in, at the hand of heartless, greedy and self-centered human (in the loosest sense of the word) beings. I cannot get the picture out of my head of the little yorkie, that could not even be identified what breed it even was when found, its hair a solid mass of dried feces, mud and grime, teeth rotting out of her mouth, infection in and on every part of her body, cowering in the corner of what looked like a pig pen in sheer terror. :cry8:

That being said, I have also over the past few days gained a tremendous new-found respect for the passionate souls that rescue these creatures, make every attempt to socialize and nurse them back to health so that these babies might become adoptable, endeavoring to give each one a chance to live a life filled with the absolute opposite of anything they have ever known - a warm bed each night, a bowl of always-fresh water, nutritious food, a lap to rest on, a clean blanket, a hand that lovingly pets and a voice that comforts...surely these little ones must feel they have truly died and gone to heaven. And sadly some are never able to be adopted due to extreme behaviorial or health issues as a result of their previous life.

Yes, the craigslist posting is very disheartening...hopefully not "real" but honestly, it wouldn't surprise me. :( Thanks for letting me share my thoughts (maybe this wasn't the best board to post this topic on). I am by no means an expert on this subject (actually pretty naive apparently) and I am sure most of you were already aware of these types of situations; I wasn't but I do have enough common sense and decency to be disturbed and disgusted by the things I have read and seen over the past few days.

Ugh that is disgusting. I hope it is fake too - just some jerk trying to get a rise out of all the animal lovers. :mad::(

Anyone who can seriously write that is probably no fake. It's hard for many of us to want to believe there are people out there like that and it's the sad thruth that there are. I'm glad it's been flagged and I wish there was a way to track these people and go after them for admitting to the world all the wrongs they've commited. It just makes me sad that defenseless animals have to be victims of such stupidity.

It is people like this fool from Craigslist are the reason that shelters and rescue have DO NOT ADOPT lists that ban then from adopting any form of a rescue. As sad as this sounds it is true that people are really like this POS! As we gasp at the cruel and heartless words that he spews, they in turn look at all of us and roll their eyes and laugh that we get attached to our little fur butts who are part of our family being loved unconditionally for a lifetime. Whether or not this is a legitimate post to Craigslist is not the real issue IMO what is most upsetting is that there are so many people living among us that actually behave this way toward man's best friend. :(

I don't believe that is real for a minute. Hope no one else believes it either. Just a person trying to get a lot of dog lovers pissed. Looks like it worked. But IMHO, it's all fake.

An even sadder reality....this is how some people treat children too. There are some sick people in this world.

:mad: i could never think of Emmett that way. He is my baby, my son. It makes me so upset to know that some people treat animals as if they were nothing at all.
