Yup! I tried it! It didn't work. I was reading in a thread posted a bit ago, about the places you can and can't take your doggies. Well last Tuesday I had to go with my brother to the San Bernardino County Records office, and well, I decided to take Lucky with me because I was going to be gone for about 3 1/2 hours depending on traffic. I had a feeling I would be asked to leave if I carried Lucky in with me, but I figured I would try it anyway, I mean it was going to be fast and my brother was just getting a copy of his birth certificate. We walked in, there wasn't any security in site, so I sat down with Lucky under my arm and on leash. I also made sure to sit far from people. Well needless to say with in 5 min a security officer was asking if he was with me for medical purposes or if he was just a pet, I answered back, " Neither, he's part of my family." LOL! Of course he told me that dogs were not allowed in the facility. At least he was nice about it. I think someone must have complained because I zipped right in there, Lucky didn't even bark or anything. Oh well, I just didn't want to leave Lucky in the car. Next time I'll know that you can't get away with anything at the records offices. :D |
Mine get to go in all the time. We live in a very small town and they dont mind. We have been asked to leave Wal-Mart but other than that Im sure it wont be the last time. :D |
You just need a good bag. :) |
Well he is a part of the family! Bummer> It was after all only for 5 min. I know at the Walmart where I live, people sneak in their pups , all the time. LOL. Sometimes, though when they get caught, they are just told not to go in the food section. I have to get my Suzi certified, she is a service animal. I am too afraid to take her with me w/o her having a vest or something on . Even when I do have one for her, it is going to be summertime, and be too hot out here. At least when it cools down, i'll be able to start taking her with me everywhere . She's quite a little bundle of energy though. This is going to be an adventure. :aimeeyork |
yeah a good bag! I bring Genghis to the bank and the post office, well and everywhere, though I'm getting better at leaving him at home. |
Usually if you have a brand new puppy no one minds. The day after I got Uni (and she was still "what the heck is going on and who are these people I'm with?") I brought her shopping with me in LA, she didn't make a peep and everyone loved her. I always see people bringing new puppies to target, walmart, etc. I've only had problems AT MY OWN SHOP! There are people of a certain race, I won't say which because i don't want to offend anyone, that always freak out when they see Uni, and either don't come in my store, or tell me to lock her up before they come in. Then they don't even say thank you when I do. Why is this? some say they are allergic, but hello yorkies are hypoallergenic! Also is you are allergic, why are you coming into a small shop where a dog hangs out ALL DAY EVERYDAY? This makes me mad, sorry I had to vent! |
You need to invest in a great beg that looks like a purse. I have this bag PetEdge: East Side Collection Croc Pet Carriers in size small and My Jeter is 19 months old and is 2 1/2 pounds with plenty of room to move about in it. I have been able to sneak him into quite a few places that I know do not allow pets. No one knows that he is in it! |

We had to go to the big courthouse the other day---with metal detectors, controlled entry etc. and my little bundle was in my puppy purse. The guy said, "mamm we have to xray that bag---I just kind of hemmed and hawed and handed over the bag----he laid it down and my husband said--man there is a dog in there---" The security guard had the funniest look on his face and it took forever to convince him I wasn't just carrying around a stuffed dog!!!! We got in and no problems.. ...I will nver forget his face!!! |
