? -Should I get Jaxon a Friend??? 2 vs 1 1 Attachment(s) I may be getting Toby tomorrow night-what do you all think the pros & cons are of having 2 vs 1? Toby will be 1 on 5/28 & weighs 3lbs. Please let me have your opinions! Thanks-Kay |
What a cutie!! I have 3. I would definatly get another for your baby to play with. My guys all play together, they sleep together. They even all eat together. They are buddy's. It's nice to see them together. I think my Coco would be very lonely without his sisters. I'm very glad I did it. I space out the vet appts so I don't get bombarded all at once. They are so little they don't eat that much (or poop that much:D) Good luck with your decision. Keep us posted!! |

I have 1 but wouldn't turn down that little cutie:D |
Me too! I am also thinking about the same thing. Snickers is sad when we are not home, I know it, he cries and barks but then is ok. Also, I have summers off so I would have the time to potty train and settle in a new puppy, but I am scared of the extra maintanence (grooming, $$$, vet, etc), dominance (I would want another boy), them fighting or perhaps not getting along. Snickers is so lovable and has never been aggresive about anything, but I'm nervous so then I think no, Snickers is fine with just us, but then I start thinking again about how much he would love a brother!! I already have a name too...Reesee--my 2 chocolate bars! |
I have 3 yorkies and just lost my pom and I love having multiples if you can afford it go for it!! They love having each other's company yet they still all love me to pieces. He is so cute |
we got our 2nd yorkie in Jan and I almost immediately had second thoughts, he is so head strong and has a completely different personality from Sam that Sam was being "beat up" on by this puppy. It took several months for all of us to adjust and for me to get the alpha position with the puppy BUT now I cannot imagine our lives without the 2 dogs. The puppy has so much to all of our lives (including Sam). They are now buddies to the end. I even told my DH I am ready for my 3rd (he won't let me until we get a bigger house though). I love having the boys around! |
Thanks for all the advice! Jaxon is so mild mannered & calm-my hubby thinks he doesn't need a friend, but I said then I could leave him more & not feel so bad about it! Jaxon loves other dogs & when he sees them he whines & cries until I let him go over & see them-I think he would do well with a brother & this little one I am going to look at tomorrow has an older girl yorkie there that he has played with! I am getting excited- Haven't told Hubby or asked!!!! Any ideas on how to break it to him? |
How exciting :) I only have one female, and would love to have anther girl ! Toby is adorable. I hope you bring him home;) |

I really want another one too!! I wish I could find one 1 or two years old Id buy it tomorrow... I look everyday on petfinder I have been for months.. I want another girl soo bad , Im just not sure I want to do the puppy thing again , I love Laci to pieces... Im just keeping my fingers crossed that a dog comes my way!!! |
I just got Dog #2 on Friday and it's one of the best decisions I've made. The only issue we have right now (and it's not even that big of a deal) is that Leo likes to play with Delilah more than she wants. She would like to be able to do her own thing sometimes and he constantly wants to play. But, I can't really complain because at least they're getting along and have fun together. I always felt like Leo was lonely when we weren't home and I think they're great company for each other. If I were you, I'd do it. :) |

I have a house full of Yorkie furkids and wouldn't have it any other way .... but on the flipside -- I know that Jaxon is part of your race team and he is a very busy Yorkie Man on the go. Having a second makes it more difficult to take them with you. Not impossible but more difficult -- When it was just Chattie I could pack her bag and off we'd go, but when Chizzie came along it was double (actually moe than double) the work. And night time walks were more involved making sure TWO girls did their business..... sneaking them into NO NO places ;):eek: was much more difficult as well -- When we needed to make a quick stop at walmart for provisions it was VERY easy to sneak Chattie in, but Chattie AND Chizzie meant someone staying out in the car to puppy sit. Also, what I found that with just Chattie, she relied more on me for companionship -- now she has a choice of who to spend her time with and often it is with one of hte other furkids rather than me :( With that said, the joy and laughter of having more than one multiplies quickly. AND the extra lovin\' cannot be measured. Good luck to you!!!!!! Can\'t wait to meet your new baby :D |
i have 3 kind of heck-tick when friends call round but we would not be without any of them ... it will make your only dog playful.. well at least it did ours when we got our second yorkie :animal36 |
