Wonderful Story They have a display case at the animal hospital that I am at today at The University of Tennessee with a stuffed Smoky in it and all kinds of pictures and stories and it is so touching. As a Yorkie lover I am just so touched by this. Here is some more info. Smoky a WWII Yorkie Heroine |
I read the book and then passed it on to another YT member. |

It is just the cutest story. Yorkies are so spunky and special. |
Smokey was a girl! I ordered the book from the author several years ago, and he autographed it for me! It is a heartwarming story, and well-written. |
I have the book -- I got it from Amazon several years ago. It's a great story. Smoky's story was also featured a couple of years ago at Westminster. When people dismiss this wonderful bread of dog because of it's small size, I just point them to the stories of Smoky on the internet. |

So excited to meet Bill Wynne!! Today I took Abby to PetSmart to get her hairs cut :) I was sitting on the bench watching Abby get trimmed and this very nice older man pushes his cart to where I was sitting and asked me if that was my Yorkie. He told me that he loved Yorkies. In fact, he was pushing around his Yorkie in a cart :) I said that it was and he goes on to tell me about Smoky the war dog. I had read an article once about Smoky. He goes on to tell me that Smoky belong to him in WWII and about the book that he had written "Yorkie Doodle Dandy". About this time the groomer was motioning that she was finished with Abby. I would have like to hear more about Smoky. When I got home I did some more research on Smoky. What a fabulous dog!! Hopefully I'll have a chance to meet this nice guy again :) |
