Doggie Hotel Worries We are going to a family party at the end of this month and my hubby has said I can take Tia if I want as it is in a dog friendly hotel. Well I am so excited but just wondering wether she will settle in the room while we are at the party. The party is only downstairs so I can check on her .Ill probably stay with her lol She is crate trained so should I put her in that while at the party? I dont know how big the hotel is , but are we likley to be put on the top floor(worried about getting her to potty on time) Any experienced doggy hotelers out there with some advice? |
Well, we just came back from spending 8 nights in motels with one of our dogs and she did very well when we had to leave her alone. Although, we only left her for short periods, mostly while we went to eat. If she is used to her crate she will probably feel more secure in there and if you can check on her often, it should be ok. Good luck with that! |
well i think u should enjoy the party, with out worrying about tia it's great that u found a hotel that takes dogs. Check on her but not 2 many times she will b fine in her crate as 4 wee.wee mayb there is some where in the yard u can take her . Have a great time xx |
When I have stayed in hotels, I keep mine in their crates, and I also put the do not disturb sign on the door when I'm out of the room. They did fine, I didn't leave them for very long at a time. |
I am a manager for a hotel, and we are pet friendly. I wouldnt worry about being put on the top floor. Most hotels usually try to keep guests with pets on the bottom floor so that it is easily accessible to the outside and by the side doors. She should be fine in the room, just put the Do not disturb sign on the door so that no hotel employees can go into your room while you are not there. |
I used to do housecleaning at a dog friendly hotel, sometimes people forget to put the 'DO NOT DISTURB' sign on the door and they let their dogs roam around the room and I always got a little surprise, lol. Just for safety measures, you should keep your baby in a crate. She will be completely fine. When I travel with my babies and I can not take them with me somewhere, I keep them in their crates and leave the alarm clock/radio on. It calms them down. ;3 |
It always amazes me the breadth of knowledge available here on YT. Here is a question about leaving a Yorkie in a hotel room and not only several who have done that but also a hotel manager and housekeeper replies with helpful info! Amazing! I love this place! |
Thanks everybody , very good tips. Ill go and enjoy it |
abbey when we stay in hotels with abbey...we crate her when we leave the room but always keep TV on for her ( cartoons) and the do not disturb sign. she's done very well we also put wee-pads down in case of mishap |
bailee does just fine with in dog friendly motels...we stayed at the hilton and the way it was layed out there was a lil section between bathroom and the rooom(like a hallway)that became her home for the weekend.we put out pads, food, and water and put her gate up.she did just fine...just make sure you put up hte do not disturb sign |
Definitely use your crate if she is crate trained when you leave her and don't forget to also use the "Do Not Disturb" sign. You might also want to put the crate in the bathroom to muffle any barking noise. |
Thankyou all soooo much for these tips you really have put my mind at rest about it and now I can continue to feel excited about taking her with us. we booked it this morning !:thumbs up |
