How drastic has lifestyle and rountine changed since you brought your dog home? Ours has changed a 180,but I love it. It is like bringing home a newborn. We schedule are plans around the 3 yorkies. We now have a night light in our bedroom so we can see them in our bed:D More laundry. More kisses:animal36. When we go on vacation they will come with us. We rush home from work to see them. More baths.Trips to Petco, which I love. Blankets around the couch. Deodorant on the wood frame base at windows:rolleyes: Stepping in that wet spot on the carpet at night on occassions:mad: I wouldn't trade any of it for all the money in the world:animal-pa:animal-pa:animal-pa |
Mine changed drastically too lol. More trips to Petsmart/Petco. More spending money for the furbaby then myself. Cleaning up more and being cautious not too drop anything they can digest. More love and smoochies. More going outside to walk the baby. More getting to know people thanks to Mimi. Spending so much time on Yt lol. More cuddle wuddle time. More hugs. My life is so much happier =D would not give her up for the world! |
My life has definitely changed. For one, I get up everyday at 7:00am even on the weekends ! No more sleeping late. I make sure I come straight home from work to feed her and walk her. Before I used to hang out a little bit after work. Now I go home first and then go back out. Forget about spontaneous weekends away. I always have to check to make sure Brandi can go. I've always have had cats and the are so low maintenance. The only the thing my cat wants from me is a clean litter box, food and water. I can leave her alone for a few days (she's a indoor cat) and not really have to worry about her. In fact I think she get's angry when I do come home :(! She loves her me time. My Brandi on the other wants and needs my attention all the time. So yes my life has changed but I love my life with my two furbabies. I wouldn't have any other way. |
I always had cats until I got my girls. Cats are easy, just leave food and water out, and a clean litterbox, and they are fine alone for several days. My Yorkie's have grounded me. I plan my life around being home on time to feed them. I cut dates short, feeling guilty when I'm at the park or somewhere else with my guy and my Yorkie's are at home alone. I avoid overnight trips at all costs and plan vacations to only pet-friendly locals. My Yorkies have each stolen my heart away and there is nothing I would not do for them. They come first, every day. |
Agreed!! Its funny... I actually quit my job because I was going to school full time and did not have enough time for the babies :p I now get up at 7 and feed them as soon as they come in from pottytime. Then I walk them after I eat and get dressed. Go to school. Come home let them out to potty. Back to school then home and walking and feeding before running any errands me and hubby have that day. LOL my friends think Im crazy because even on weekend we don't go out late because we hate leaving them alone. Most weekends we plan for our dogs not us  Ahhh being owned by these furbabies is the best life one could have :D |
Alot. We never are gone for long periods of time and if I make sure I book breaks at work so I can come home often. If we will be my Mother in Law babysits her. I NEVER leave her home for periods longer than about 3.5 hrs. |

And the waking up early on weekends! I'm now up every morning between 7-8am. I used to sleep until 10am! |
Ditto to all replys! It's like another baby in the house! Wouldn't change it for anything!! |
All you said sounds familiar. I can add to that list by saying we bought a travel trailer (never had camped before, wouldn't even consider it) so our little JoJo could go on vacation with us. We had one experience with a pet friendly chalet in Gatlinburg - yard was nasty. Now we are happy campers! We have a lot more smiles and laughter in our home. He pays his debt for the money and work he has cost/created by all the love and kisses he gives us. Aren't they wonderful? |
Gosh they really are wonderful. Tobey is my first dog- first pet really since I wasn't allowed to have any growing up. I found that all the time I had to put into training him and being with him never bothered me. The only time I ever get annoyed with him is when he barks cuz I feel like he is disobeying me;) Most of the time when I am cuddling him close I wonder "what will I ever do without you??" I am lucky that I got a boy who LOVES to cuddle and can't get enough of me. HE has brought so much happiness to my life! |
I used to be a party animal and I went out constantly. Now, I prefer that people come to our home to visit. I called our new year's trip short because my mother was watching Cash and I had said I would be back on a certain day. Everyone wanted to stay longer, so I drove 5 hours to my parents' beach house only to find that they were 2 hours back (along the road I had come) at friends'. I drove back because I really wanted to see Cash! I could have stayed, but I wanted to see him. I spend every possible moment at home with the babies. I drive in heavy afternoon traffic to get Cash to his agility training, Saturday mornings I get up at 6 to get June to her socialization class at 09h30. Tomorrow I am going to drive very far to get Cash to a photo shoot with his agent (he is being signed up as animal actor). I cook for them myself, I groom them myself (quality time) and I clean up after them. Wouldn't change it for the world!!:D Ps. My family thinks I am crazy, but oh well! You can't win them all:cool: |
life change well I have traded having a life for life with Abbey..everything I do revolves around my baby. I no longer go out with friends as they always want to shop..eat and movies..thats too long away! My favorite store has become Petsmart! always used to shop for grandkids..now shop for abbey. My waking thoughts are all about her! she is my baby and I cant imagine life without her |
not really, i was staying juz at the house before we got suki but now i enjoy it more coz she is with me;) |
I couldnt agree more with everyone...running home after work...no more happy hours...outings with the girls are either pet friendly, or home visits haha. I'm all for pet friendly vacations and cant wait to book our first vacation with Daisy... But I must add a few new changes...on the plus side, my hubby and I have been able to save money...we dont go out as much haha we eat in, ...and my discovery...Daisy is like a baby...and like with babies, "alone time with the hubby" goes out the window!!! There are no such events with a 4 lb morkie sleeping horizontal between you and the man. :p it took about 3 months to get back on track...we found a babysitter...my parents haha At the end of the day...I wouldnt change a thing...she's a beautiful addition to our little family. |
I couldnt agree more either!! I love every minute of every day with Laci, its just like having a new baby, she brightens each and every day... She is the best thing that could have happened to us.. she is just the best puppy anyone could ask for.. I love her to pieces.. |
