Ruby's first grooming appt
 
My Ruby has her first grooming appt today. I am very nervous about it. The groomer has told me that I am welcomed to stay while she grooms her and I am very tempted but I am afraid it make it harder because I know if Ruby sees me she will not be cooperative. What do you think?

i do not stay for the same reason, but for some reason they cannot pluck her ears unless i am holding her. so when i pick her up, we get that part done!

Go with your gut instinct. I wanted to stay, but the groomer said better to go. After 20 minutes she phoned me to come as she couldnt do a thing with Molly. I went and stroked and talked to Molly while the groomer did her stuff...job done! :thumbup:
ps..ive groomed her myself evert since, and it works much better! ;)

I stay, and am surprised at how well they behave for Lisa. She has her shop set up so that I can sit in the waiting area where they can't see me but I can watch via a mirror as she works. Only thing is that we end up talking and chatting the whole time so even though they can't see me they can hear me, so I'm not sure what good it does to have her shop set up that way. :rolleyes::p:D

How well do you know you're groomer? If you think she will be OK, I'd go get some things done. But if you feel you want to stay I'd stay. When we were in San Diego we had a great groomer, she never put Princess in a crate to wait, she got her in and out. I really don't see why some groomers have them for over three hours. Princess really needs to go but we just moved to NC and I have no idea where to take her. But I am looking.(I'm just very picky when it comes to Princess).
Please try not to be nervous (I know easy to say, hard to do) but you don't want Ruby to feel you are nervous, because then she will be too.

Don't for get your after groomers treat.:D

Thanks for the advice. I have not used this groomer before, but my friend does for her Yorkie and has nothing but good things to say so I feel good about that. I think I will stay just to ease my mind. And thanks for reminding me about the after grooming treat. That would be shameful if I forgot. LOL
