Pet Insurance? What are some of the better companies to get pet insurance from? Should I be looking local, state or nationwide? Do they require a physical exam before you can get insurance? Any help would be great! |
Look at Pet Plan & ASPCA. I have ASPCA, but Pet Plan may be "better". |
Thanks bildio! PetPlan seems very reasonable. |
I think the exam would depend on the age of your dog. For the majority of what I've read in the past, seemingly healthy puppies qualify easily without verification. However, if they've seen a vet and has on record a condition or maybe symptoms leading up to a serious health condition, I'm not sure that some policies will cover it. A lot of them say they do not cover pre-existing conditions. For example, if your dog has been diagnosed with, say, hip dysplasia at some point in their past, if you were to purchase a policy for them now, any future surgeries and/or treatment and therapy thereafter related to the hip condition will not be covered by your pet insurance. |
