Getting neutered tommo.???? my baby is getting fixed tommo. but the following day me and my husband both work all day. he usually stays in his crate while we are gone. will he be okay to left alone the day after??? any speacial tricks to make him feel better? |
It probably will be a good idea to keep him in his crate so he doesn't move around too much at first anyway. As long as you monitor the incision, he should be okay by himself. Have you thought abotu running home over lunch to check on him, or having someone else check in on him during the day? I have never had a male need pain medication after neutering. But, you can ask your vet what he/she thinks. I've only gone through the process three times, and I know each time has been different. When we got our George neutered, he wanted to run and play as soon as we got home. I had to crate him for a day just so he'd take it easy! :) |
^ Good advice. And Jackson was the same way. He was VERY groggy and out of it the first day I brought him home, but by the second day he was nearly himself again. The third day he was totally himself and was running around as if nothing happened. I tried to contain him and keep him chill for at least 4 days but by the 5th day, it was impossible and he knew his limits. If he didn't feel like playing, he would let the other dog know. Good luck, he will be fine! Also, something for you to (hopefully) look forward to. It's now been about 2 weeks since Jackson's neuter and he seems to have chilled out a lot. He was never an overly hyper dog before but he's definitely become better at night-time and will cuddle more! |
When I had my basset male done My sister went to pick him up he was sitting in the front seat and she thought he was licking his wounds got him home and when I looked at it he took the stiches out I called the vet and they said just make sure he don't run or jump she said theres stiches inside also ...He was ok and healed good Female basset when we got her done it was a different vet and they put glue on the outside of it that worked really will they both healed nicely:animal-pa saying prayers your way |
