Bluebelle is so quiet Hello, So I took home Bluebelle last Tuesday and almost a week later I am a bit at a loss of how to house train here as she is so quiet. At the moment, we are having un-seasonably good weather and the door is open a lot. She has very few accidents, almost always trying to pee on the mats and not the floor....but how will she tell me she wants out in the long term? She hardly ever barks - except when left alone...she doesn't bark for attention, just lifts her paw! She is a dream, really...but long-term, she needs to tell us it's pee time! Any ideas? |
You will probably get more advice in the Training section of the forum. :) Also, since she's going on the mats, have you tried laying down pee pads on top of those mats she goes on? Or are those "mats" actually the pads you are already using? :) Also, for the long term, was it your intention to just have her only do her business outside and no more mats? Maybe walking her first thing in the morning when you wake up and then every hour afterward if you have the time as I'm assuming she's still young. Then gradually increase the time in between walks until you're down to maybe 3 walks a day. That might help. Good luck with your little one! She sounds like such a sweetheart. :animal36 |
My little girlie is 6 1/2 months. We've had her since Feb 20 and we haven't heard her bark yet. I have three other yorkies and they all bark. The only sound she makes is to whine a little when she knows I'm upstairs and haven brought her along. I read about bell training dogs. You hang a bell at the door that they use. Every time you go out the door with them, you ring the bell. Sooner or later the dogs generally get the hint and ring the bell when they want to go out. Other than that - I'm hooped. My dog never makes a sound. Michele :-) |
