Help I need some advise I currently have a 16month old female yorkie who weighs just under 5 lbs and we just bought a new yorkie which is a male and he is 7weeks old and currently weights just under 2pounds....Now will I be able to breed them eventually ? Now as well is it true that the male must be smaller then the female? Why? Now as well how big is this male gonna be? :aimeeyork |
Welcome to YT. According to the growth chart estimate, he should be about 6 pounds. Yorkshire Terrier - Yorkie Puppy Growth/Weight Chart - watch us grow |
Welcome to YT! Sounds to me like he is going to be 6lbs or bigger. The growth chart (for my two) was right on. I have always been told that the male should be smaller than the female. You may want to post this in the breeder section. We have some good people with great info on this. Good Luck to you |
:animal-pa:aimeeyork:animal-pa Welcome to YT. If you have a large male it can hurt or kill your female to give birth due to the size of the pups. But just because you think your male is small you dont know anything about his mothers side or fathers side. There could be a gene that produces large pups. You have to study the pedigree on each side before breeding. Good Luck to You |
