My female is humping me I have never had this with a female before and I have been owned by a yorkie for 10 years and fostered numerous yorkies in those years. Lilly is a puppy mill rescue all of 2 pounds That I adopted about three weeks ago and she insists on humping me. We go through this every night. First she will start nipping me with the 2 teeth she has left and nudging me with her nose. All of a sudden the humping starts on my arm, leg, what ever body part she is laying on at the time. I just pick her up tell her no and try to redirect her but it doesn't work. I will trying to get her to stop for almost an hour before she gives up and finally goes to sleep. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you put a stop to it. Any suggestions would be great. |
Have you tried getting her a big toy she can hump instead? |
I get the same, exactly the same treatment from Reesie. No one else here does. She won't pay any attention to her toys or treats, she just wants my leg. If I scold her she gets mad and won't come near me for several days, then she's very tentative, climbs on the back of the couch and will lick my ear to see how I react. LOL! When I was younger I wished for a girlfriend that was that driven but never got one! Not even my wife. |
lolool this is too funny.. haha. Stormy likes to hump my moms female yorkie only. |
Molly is a leg humper..usually in the evening, when i have settled down to watch the tele. I end up curled up with my legs underneath me to stop her doing it!! |
I have no experience with a mill pup doing this but have to say that it breaks my heart as this is all she has ever known. :( How long have you had her? I am wondering is she is new to your home and only recently spayed maybe her hormone levels need to go down and she will stop? It is usually a sign on dominance and not lust that a dog will hump but with a pup that has lived in a mill making babies their entire life I would think it might be a little different. Maybe a way of coping  |
My dog is six years old and she started humping my leg a couple of years ago when the cat moved in. She never did it before. She does not do it to anyone else, only me. I scold her and she comes right back. I usually have to get up and totally redirect her attention. It's almost like she is trying to tell the cat that I belong to her! |
Michelle, I think this is so sad. I agree that this is a learned behavior. |

Lilly has been in my home for three weeks. She was spayed in the middle of February. During the day we have no problem. Like another poster said it's only when we settle down. I have two other females and she does not try that on them. Just Me I'm almost wondering if it could be she wants the all attention because when we lounge on the couch for the night all three girls snuggle and I pay attention and love on all three. |
It is a sign of showing dominance. Triskies did a few times but stopped. |

I've read that this behavior is a dominance thing too. Do not allow it. If she continues, it's time for a behavior change on your part... no attention, time out in crate, discipline of some kind. Roxy started humping at about 4-5 mo to both dh & me. I wouldn't let her & told dh to make her stop also. She doesn't do it anymore. |
