Does your yorkie nibble on you? Louis does the funniest thing, he will climb on the back of the couch and start nibbling on our heads. He will also do this to our arms. It's like what dogs do to themselves when they chew on their paws to clean themselves. I just wanted to know if anyone else has a yorkie that does this???? |
Haha Teddy is the same way! I call Teddy a nose biter! Every time he gets in your face he is going to attack your nose! I have no idea why he does this but it is a guarantee to happen haha. |

Carlie "nibbles" before we fall asleep. I have wondered if it was a form of what they do when they are nursing as pups. It is very sweet though don't you think? |
When Lucas gets excited, he goes right for my earlobes  Little nibbles and licks hehe |
Emmett nibbles at me, it is so very soft and doesnt hurt at all. I love his little love bites! |
So does Sebistian!! He will climb on the back of my chair, wrap himself around my neck and before I know it he has me pinned down and has stolen 1,000 kisses and nibbles on my ear. I love him so much!! Stinker:p |
:D Barley nibbles his stuffed toys and his beds. He's never tried to nibble me yet though:rolleyes: |
Ear nibbler here...she just can't get enough! |
You are not alone and as many years as I have had yorkies never have I had this happen to me.. Then Majik came along.. he did not do this at first.. but now he is settled in and content and a suck.. he does this to me.. if not my head in bed... he does this to my arms if he is on my knee while I am on the puter...I sat and wondered about this happening the other night.. Now tonight I see your thread.. too funny.. |
Yes, Kayla is real bad to do that or just down right bite if she wants to get you up out of bed. What she does that is really funny though is, she washes your neck, hands. She will lay on my stomach (she sleeps with us) and will start to wash my neck from ear to ear. Drives you crazy. I have never seen one do that. She will then start on your hands. We get really clean before getting up. lol!!!! |
Cookie likes too nibble wiggly fingers and especially toes. :yelrotflm |
Lacey is a nose nibbler also. So sweet. |

Piper does when you have a boo boo. I think he thinks he's making it all better. |
Little Nibbler My yorkie is a year old now and he has just started this nibbbling phase. He mostly does it on my husband. He first started with his eyebrows, then his hair, and then the hair on his arms. Since then I have noticed he is nibbling the bed covers. He has only done it to me once or twice but he cannot seem to stop nibbling my husband. Could this become a compulsive thing? Just a little worried about my little man.:animal-pa |
Gizmo is a face nibbler, if I am laying in bed he will lay on my stomach and begin kissing my chin and start crawling up my face, so he is nibbling on chin, mouth, nose, at this point I can't breath, if I try to turn my head he follows crawling on me so I can't get away. It's hilarious, if I am sitting in the reclyner he will leap in the chair with me landing on my lap, then make another leap into my chest and begin nibbling where again I can't get away....lol |
Rio loves to lick my face when I first get home, and she always mixes in little soft bites too. It's so precious! |
Wow! I had a post in the sick section because Celine had started doing that to her blankets. It is interesting to find this out! I was afraid she was having behavior problems or was hurting or Allergies. I did call the vet this morning and they said just to keep an eye on her. Make sure she is eating, drinking and acting okay. This is actually exciting to hear! She does not bite through the blankets or anything it was just so different to see! She is tired when she does this. I actually have been up later with the Holiday. Happy New Year Everyone!!!! |
I just wrote the following on a post in another thread about this same behavior: Must be pretty common behavior for them to do this nibbling as there are many posts online about it: (Examples) http://www.justanswer.com/pet-dog/2w...ont-teeth.html Why Does My Dog Nibble With His Front Teeth? | http://www.ehow.com/facts_5519515_do...ont-teeth.html eHow.com and Why does my dog "nibble" us like he is eating corn on the cob? They call it flea biting, corn-on-the-cob biting, corn nibbling & blanket nibbling. Causes are ranging from grooming to play to comforting to boredom. Redirecting seems to be the best advice to try to stop the behavior. Give them something you want them to chew on instead. |
Thank You Thanks for the information. It makes since. I read the post on Ask.com that recommended you use pickle juice on arms and hands. I don't think my husband wants to smell like a pickle. My baby probably doesn't like his new haircut and is trying to fix it.;) |
