I could not say no. I have never regretted it. He is the sweetest most lovable baby. At first more attatched to daddy than mommy but since I started telling him we are getting a sister ( and yes showing him her picture) he seems to want my lap all the time:p. I know I know they say they dont understand our words but explain that one lol. Now I am anxious for Friday to be here because we are going to Jens to get Lolita we are so excited and will keep you all posted with pics. |
RE: Highlighted statement...I so disagree with anyone who says they do not understand our words. HA! Our Tiki understands everything and sometimes too much. Her Daddy said the other day that sometimes she is too smart. We have to spell my friends name or her Yorkie boys name or tiki goes crazy when she hears the names. We have to spell GO or she goes nuts. Even if she is sleeping and we say the word "she" - she wakes up and knows we are talking about her. When we are getting ready to go somewhere, she hovers, staring as if to say, "Please, olease can I go too". If it is an occasion when she can't go, one or both of us will say (because if one says it, she goes to the other) "Sorry, Tiki, you can't go today. You have to stay home". Well this little miss will instantly become dejected, hang her head and slowly head to her bed. If I then ask for a goodbye kiss, she will just stare at me or turn her head so far, you'd think she would break her neck, until I say Pleeze, Pleeze sometimes 3 times before she will bestow a kiss on my nose.
Yes, she understands every word we say to her. I believe it completely, regardless what "they" say. If she is able to go, my husband will say, "Tiki, where is your harness?" She will run right to it and put her paws up on the blanket where we keep her harness. She knows names too. I say my brother's name and sis in laws name (they are the birth grandparents) or if I say her birth mothers name or their other Yorkie's name, she runs to me, jumps up and kisses my face. She gets very excited. But she does that with the names of everyone she knows and loves.
Cute story: We were in KMart other day. I was in the ladies room so Dad had Tiki in the cart. A lady came by in a scooter with a little white dog (fluffy type) in a basket on the front of her scooter. She made a big dieal to her dog about another little dog. When they got side by side, her dog started barking at Tiki. Tiki justlooked at it and then turned her head and lay back down - as if to say,"You got a problem, doggie?" A little later, I had Tiki and saw the lady. She asked if this was the dog that her dog barked at. I told her I believed so. She asked me if Tiki ever barked. I told her, "Not in stores. She knows better". She barks at deer, cats and squirrels as she chases them out of our yard. Or the neighbors dogs because she thinks when they bark that someone is coming here........
Tiki's Mom and devoted slave. Oh, she has now got her service dog papers too. Oh, How we love her. <3
